THANKS DAD FOR STARTING IT ALL.

Wed Apr 17, 2013 9:25 pm

After watching a life time dream turn into reality last night, my thoughts turned to my father, he started going down the city on the valley special trains in the late 50's, he was followed by my older brother in the middle 60's, then me in 1971, there is no doubt we went down the city because we followed our father, last night it was all worth while, all the pain over the years of being drip fed crap football and false dawns came home to roost. I lost my father 6 years ago but i'm convinced he was there last night with all the other city fans we have lost, shouting and screaming just like the rest of us, (i'm sure there are many of you who have lost loved ones or pals who really should/deserved to be there last night and you'll have your own thoughts of them) so dad, we've done it, we're in the premier league, and thanks for making it happen for me.

I lost my dad 12 and a half years ago. He died just before Sam took over and told me the year he died that I'd never see Cardiff in the premier league. In a strange twist it was also his birthday yesterday. Happy birthday dad!
