and just a couple of thoughts I had and discussed on the way home tonight....

1/ thank f**k we don't have to watch crappy 30 second highlights on the football league show if we miss an away game....hello Match choice on sky sports!

2/I wonder how John Brayford who choose Derby over us feels tonight?

In hindsight, 81 was enough and that figure will only drop unless Watford win 3/3. This season could see the lowest point total needed for promotion and the highest needed for safety in a long time and I'm still unsure whether that means that the league is stronger or weaker than normal! With 2 of the relegated teams struggling to stay in the league with very strong squads, I'm leaning towards it being strong. One thing that is beyond doubt is that we are the only consistent team in this league.

Over last 10 seasons-lowest points for automatic promotion was 79 for stoke 2007/2008 - next lowest was birmingham on 83 in 2008/2009 , & last season west ham had 86 and had to go up via the play offs.So yeah,this year could well see lowest points needed.I am also leaning to the reason being a strong league,cant remember another season when NONE of the relegeted sides have been challenging.
