Charlton Fan - just stopping by to say hello

Tue Apr 16, 2013 12:56 pm

Firstly congratulations :malky:

I know you're not quite there yet but you will be soon, every team has a little stutter on the finishing line. We did the same last year and the year we went up to the premier league as champions of the then 1st division, I just hope your stutter carries on for one more game, I know you'll understand that :P

However you gain promotion, with a victory tonight or not, enjoy your time in the sunshine. I know you've waited a long time for it to come, so take time to savour it. I've been out drinking in Cardiff a few times, I can imagine it'll be a wild weekend when you do it!

Next year build a team of characters, fancy Dans that can skin a cat while beating 10 outfield players often disappear after 2/3 defeats in January and picking up their bill can cost more than just money. You'll need players that'll stand up to the Roodvanisltleboy's of this world even though they've been skinned three times already and keep going and believing through the dark times. Build a team to win promotion again just in case but never forget that just because you're the new boys, it don't mean the other teams are better.

Most of all keep faith with the manager, as QPR (ha ha ha ha) have found out, even Magic Harry (give us a wink) Redknapp cant dig you out of some things. So your better of with what you know and the team Malky built! I like Malky (even though I teased him a bit at the Valley) he'll see you through.

In case anyone cant get in there is a stream going apparently, have a look at Charlton life for the details, I'm no expert on these things.

Cheers, yes weve waited a long long time and I know it will be tough tonight, but even though we only need a draw, I will go for a 2-1 victory to Cardiff :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

If you consider a recent draws as stutters I'll happily take that tonight fella.

Thanks for calling by and all the best for trying to get in the playoffs.

Don't see an easy game tonight. Might just take the point now, You have an excellent away record, better than your home one isn't it? We lost there as well, with worst defeat /performance of the season (along with the one at brizzle/wurzels).
Decent manager so he will have your team prepared no doubt.

PS: Hope you lose tonight, then get max points and get in the playoffs. :malky:

My sister goes out with a Charlton fan and I've been getting it in the neck from both of them since the 5-4 game so we owe the fuckers for that alone!

Would like to see them make a play off puch in their last 3 games though.

My two hopes for next year are that a) we don't knee-jerk sack Malky and b) we keep the majority of this squad. We are good enough to go up, lots of teams that have recently come down haven't been good enough to go up so we have clearly got something about us (even if it doesn't always look pretty). Add a few quality players and a bit more depth in defense and we have a squad that can stay up.
