Charlton Will Be No Pushover Tonight

Tue Apr 16, 2013 11:53 am

With only two away games left for Charlton they currently have the 2nd best away defensive record in the Championship, with only Leicester City conceding fewer goals away from home.

Charlton have only conceded 23 goals in 21 away games or 1.10 goals a game, they have also kept 7 clean sheets away from home and it's been 3 away games without conceding. Their worst away defeat was 4-1 at Middlesborough in November. They have also won 9 away games this season only 1 fewer than ourselves. This all suggests they are a very organised team and that tonight may well turn out to be a very close contest.

We are without our main strikers tonight which won'y help but I have no doubt that the team will get the point we need to get us over the line.

As fans our job tonight will be to stay with the team, whatever happens, and give them the support the both need and deserve.

It won't be a pushover but I'm convinced it will be the night our dreams are finally delivered.

Malky will be aware of this. Not sure the fans are. Very hard game, but hopefully win and get promoted in style. :ayatollah:

Our toughest game of the season
lets be honest.

They are on a high
We will have a a stadium of tense fans.
We are without campbell.

I hope Rudy rises to the occasion and proves my doubting view of him wrong.....again!! :ayatollah:

Still prefer Rudy as an impact sub. Not a starter for me.

I agree we need to make the CCS a hell hole for Charlton and the referee tonight in the very best traditions of Ninian Park.

But not for our players.

If you watch their pre-match interviews Charlton are definately on a high, looking to take an outside chance on the play-offs and spoil a promotion party.
I hope the crowd get behind the team in the right way and don't let overconfidence or nerves undermine the players.

2-0 City, preferably with Mason starting.

We will concede first. I can see it happening. Then suddenly that man Rudy comes out of nowhere, with ball rolls and step overs taking out 2 defenders, then a roulette to leave the last man hanging then a cheeky robona over the keeper. Then he scores again from an overhead kick in the 92nd minute.
