family stand empty seats

Mon Apr 15, 2013 10:58 pm

This has been the topic on other threads throughout the season.Been an st in the family stand with my son for last 4 years-the first section of the ground to be "sold out" apparantly-But on match days has the most empty seats.we all know why there are empty seats-you were able to get an st for an under 10? i think for some stupid amount like £10.The club now must surely address this situation -we will be sold out for virtually every game next year in the prem, but there will still be loads of empty seats in the family stand-doesnt look to too good on motd if nothing else.

You make a very good point and it was like that on Saturday vs Forest

Best I say little beyond that, such as I noted the usual numbers of early leavers streaming out after 85 minutes

The kids must have been very naughty that day, as they had to go home to get to bed early before Sunday School, no doubt ;)  :ayatollah:

i coulnt believe numbers that were leaving around me-ffs -i must admit we left early for the Leicester game-i was working early next day & my boy had an exam & normally takes 40 mins from neath but in post match traffic can take up to hour & half-we have vowed since we will never leave early

Take season tickets off persistent absentees. There are genuine people who would love to see games regular next season but will be now unable to and are on a waiting list. Obviously people will have genuine reasons of not being able to turn up to EVERY game, but I'm talking about people that buy the season ticket of £10 and probably turn up to like 1 or 2 games the whole season. It really isn't fair.

Mate, I took a lot of stick on here recently for asking 'why' people constantly leave early when there is still so much to play for and I didn't get a 'genuine' answer until you posted this and I thank and respect you for that :ayatollah:

There will always be genuine reasons (such as yours) why people cannot make a particular game or have to leave early but I reckon there are kids out there who actually think that football is a game of two halves; one of 45 minutes and one of 40 minutes  :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I totally agree it is wrong, mate, and you can bet your bottom dollar they'll all be there next season come rain or shine when certain clubs are in town ;)

People will say "they've paid their money, so it's their perrogative" and they might have a point, as the system in place allows it. Morally, however, it is very wrong (IMHO, of course) ;) :ayatollah:

Whack the price up to a reasonable level after next season problem solved, people won't buy them unless they intend going.

Surely it isn't hard to get a few at the club to go around noting empty seat numbers every game then writing to the absent fans.
I don't think raising the price helps it would just mean a lot of families could miss out..

You should have to attend a certain amount of home games in order to receive the discounted price. If you don't, then you get a bill through the post for the cost of a full adult season ticket.

They should know exactly how many times every season ticket's been used if the entry system is working properly. Send them a bill if they don't attend enough games and stop them from renewing until they pay it. Simple.
