Heidar Helguson to miss Charlton clash through injury

Striker Heidar Helguson will miss Cardiff City's bid to seal promotion to the Premier League against Charlton on Tuesday because of injury.

Iceland international Hulguson, 35, damaged a hamstring in Saturday's 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest.

And having scored the opener, Helguson watched substitute Rudy Gestede's second-half brace.

Fellow striker Fraizer Campbell and defender Matt Connolly also remain on the sidelines.

Campbell, who joined the Bluebirds in January 2012, has an ankle problem.

A groin strain keeps Connolly on the sidelines as they face a side bidding for a play-off place and who beat Barnsley 6-0 on Saturday.

His head will probably have taken us to the Prem, his goal and getting smacked in the face.

It is a blow but I think that we can manage without him and his experience that he offers upfront.
