Fact about people who buy tickets and still dont go.

Mon Apr 15, 2013 9:21 am

According to police figures, Manchester United exaggerate their home attendances. United's average league gate is 65,601,while the official figure is 75,527. The reason for this discrepancy is that at least 10,000 people regularly buy tickets and do not use them. They can, therefore, boast of having seats for the finest team in England without the inconvenience of actually going to the game. As ever, such delicious details tell a broader story. When they come to write the history of the Premier League, this merits an entire chapter.

Anyone who's ever been to Old Trafford for a Man United home league game, or even watched them on the telly, will be able to tell you that there are never anywhere near 10,200 empty seats. I don't care where the story came from, its bullshit

I don't quite see the problem :?

Manchester United get the match day revenue so what's all the fuss about? If someone wishes to waste their money in such a fashion that's up to them, but I would prefer to think the non-attendances are to due with other commitments clashing with game times.
