Premier League fans have no idea

Sun Apr 14, 2013 9:18 pm

Heard some of these from student mates who are plastics - most notably Liverpool fans

1) You will struggle next year. You have not set the Championship alight
2) Cardiff will go straight back down because they don't have the quality
3) Newcastle destroyed the league but you have been lucky to be where you are
4) You are in for a shock next season when you play us and other big clubs
5) You will need to spend about £40m to stay up as your team is not good enough

All statements debunked

1) Its an achievement for us to just be in the Premier League
2) We have exceeded the points tallies of Reading and Southampton after 42 games and WBA in their promotion winning season. A WBA who smashed Liverpool to bits earlier on this season after slowly getting better each season
3) Newcastle were the exception and not the rule. They came down, kept most of their team and were richer than most clubs
4) Top clubs next season will be expected to beat us just as they were Swansea. Oh wait........ Arsenal, Liverpool, what? :laughing6:
5) Thanks for the financial advice. Just what we needed from fans of a club who thought it wise to spend £35m on Andy Carroll. :laughing5:

Of all the big clubs next year, I really hope we do Liverpool as their fans need to learn to shut up. :malky:

It's all I've had in college, "you'll be lucky to win a game"

Remember what everyone said about Norwich and Swansea..?

I've moaned about Malky's style of play at times this season, but that's because at times he should have worn down teams like Barnsley rather than sitting back.

The team' s workman like qualities may fair better in the Prem however, with some more quality and depth may be more effective when looking to achieve Prem survival.

It's funny because they'll be the first in queue to watch Man Utd, Chelsea and Liverpool down the CCS. Bunch of idiots really :ayatollah:

Always makes me laugh when the snobby Prem team "fans" think that every side promoted to the Prem will go straight back down and every Prem side relegated will get immediate promotion.

Very rarely these days does more than one of either case happen (ask Wolves, Blackburn. Southampton & West Ham fans).

As much as I hate them, I remember the same things being said about the Jacks last year as well as Norwich

WAKE UP BLIND/ONE-EYED plastics

Exactly what you lot said to us and here we are with a major trophy a third season gauranteed and a world legend as manager. Pointless making predictions for next season now. After watching you the only thing I can see lacking is pace. We had plenty of it am I wrong to suggest you don't?

jackf we need real pace at the back in the prem league which we don't have now

i,m sure our owners will address that situation in the summer months

In fairness, you are spot on. Up front we'll have pace in Fraizer and Maynard. We need a solid right winger, you had Dyer, we need someone to come in. We need a central defender and a right back.

Overall, I think we need 4-5 players.

Im sure they will mozz. How about further up the field, as a compaeison we have dyer routs hernandez michu de guz and lammah all with serious pace its one of the biggest differnces in the leagues imo. Saying that theres still a place for a solid defwndee that reads the game well as we have seen with monk.

I think we have pace but the way we set out to play most games we haven't used it. In the premiership i think we will play a diferent way..

i know where your coming from jackf. i ain't got a crystal ball and the hierachy at our club will be planning now for next season . Defo / Lennon / bale running at our current defence sends shivers down my spine right now and that's only spurs !

As for the rest of the team we are not too far away and we will surprise a few next season make no mistake . Tan is no mug you know

by the way are you typing using predictive texting or you and swansealad69 the same person ?

Bellamy, Campbell, Mutch, Kim all have enough pace. I think it's going to depend heavily on how we play. Started the season 4-5-1 our fans complained heavily so we went to 4-4-2 now back to 4-5-1 and everyone's delighted (who says football fans are fickle) I think depth and experience are key.

A lot of Cardiff's experience - Marshall, Conolly, Whitts, Hudson, Smith, Helgusson even Taylor and Campbell. Never really cut it at the Prem level only really Bellamy has.

But then, Norwich and Swansea wern't oozing with Prem experience and they've been fine.

Main thing for Cardiff is going up this season is a huge amount of money so some financial stability might happen, building on Malky's behind the scenes stability will help if/when cardiff go down they can be a large club in the Championship.

Fat fingers small keyboard.
Full backs are crucial. So many quick wide players its frightening at times. The other thing I noticed was ruthless finishing compared to the championship. Mistakes are nearly always punished. The only other thing is the lack of games. One mid week game at home a season. Oh and there is no easy game. Well qpr apart obviously. We have hardly taken points of the bottom 3 both seasons. One things for certain nobody will follow the qpr method any more of signing a new squad.
