It would be interesting to learn who actually owns the two Houses of Sport.
I know Steve Borley took the financial responsibility for the initial House of Sport at a time when the club had to build it in order to meet its obligations to the council (and to retain its Academy status) but couldn't afford to do so. I think CCFC had some sort of a future buy-back option on the Borley deal if memory serves.
Evidently it didn't prove too much of a financial burden if the House of Sport II has been built. But who actually owns and operates these two establishments, I wonder?

David the purpose of House of Sport was to be a community asset and provide community facilities that did not exist in Cardiff as well as a home for the Academy. It provides much needed international standard Futsal facilities as well as development programmes for Netball and Basketball and other minority ball type sports. It also provides sports facilities for the disabled and physically impaired. Please don't mistake this with a money making operation. It is the home of our 80 strong community staff and the motto is dare to dream for the programmes we run out of there. It does not matter how old, mobile , able you are the feeling when the ball strikes the back of the net or drops through the hoop is the same.
We are a development centre not a league factory and no one sport will dominate the facility. That is demonstrated by the fact that the first event was for 300 girls in a netball competition from all over South Wales followed by a women's basketball event.
I built phase one out my back pocket and gave the club the chance to buy it back at cost. I subsequently sold a 50 % stake to Berjaya Assets.
Whilst you may have issues with the club nobody can criticise the fantastic work carried out by the Community Foundation which is also run outside the club from this 4 million pound facility which will a fantastic legacy from the stadium development agreement
