I think last season an average of approx 2,500 City fans never attended each home game.

It is the same at every club around the country, on average ten per cent of season ticket holders will be absent, and if yo think about it, then that's about right, people go on holidays, work shifts have weddings and functions etc, but are happy to buy a season ticket to guarantee themselves a seats for the 90% of games they get to.

That sounds about right, I've missed 6/7 home games this season due to working away, but over the last 5 seasons I missed 2 in total due to work.

I've only missed 3 home games this season of my ST, all due to work comittments.
I did manage to get a friend to take it up for 1 game, but as for the other 2 - empty seat time....which makes me sick. I wish the club could "reallocate" it when I can't go as part of that comminuty outreach project they have with the local children, but as its in the Ninian, They can't / wont.

Exactly. 2.500 missing from our home games is around 13% of our total number of season ticket holders. It is quite a reasonable figure when you factor in things like you have mentioned above.
