I am in the hope she rots in Hell camp.
Opinions.

Silly that the song's being banned off air by the BBC as it's disrespectful but they covered up the Jimmy Savile scandal
Fri Apr 12, 2013 10:09 pm
It make's a perfect ring tone
Fri Apr 12, 2013 10:12 pm
Been singing it all week.
Fri Apr 12, 2013 10:19 pm
Its disrespectful and crass. Yet, the first thing I did when I heard of her death was to post the video on my facebook page.
I can't think of any other British leader who divided and continues to divide the nation as much as Maggie.
Lets just bury the bitch and move on

Like or loath her it doesn't matter.
Incredibly tasteless thing to play about someone who has died.
Let her family grieve in peace.
Those who are 'celebrating' should be ashamed of themselves.

I'm absolutely fuming the BBC haave banned it. it's what the nation's purchasing publoc in a free market want. it'd ne her wishes to play it as it was a free market tbat bought it surely?

Oh grow up. If they were avoiding it they would ignore it completely. End of the day if your mother died and the locals put Ding dong the witch is dead on the jukebox down the pub you'd have something to say. I'm not her biggest fan but it's crude and unnecessary.
If there was a terrorist attack on London and all the Muslims bough Londons burning I assume you'd feel the same?

The "sheep" my friend are the unfortunate people who buy into the "political correct" world, spouted by mainstream media, telling YOU what is right and what is wrong.
Why do you have a problem with others who express their opinion (cue the Chuckle!) in a free and democratic society (supposedly)?
Are they breaking any laws? Are they hurting other persons?
Why do I pay a BBC license fee when THEY decide what I can and cannot listen to and watch? Why would the BBC ban anything that was not illegal?
Aren't the BBC suppossed to be impartial and show all sides of the spectrum? That is in their Charter is it not?
When you talk about sheep be very careful who is the Shepherd........
Namaste
P.S. Have you ever seen video of Britains cellebrating Hitler's death? Should that have been banned? It's called free will and it will never go away.

Funny how the pro-Thatcher types say it's childish to oppose her. Take your ball and go home, boys.

It's not childish to oppose here but it's tasteless to celebrate the death of a lady. Many say she lacked a moral compass, something I tend to agree with but what does it say about those who celebrate her death, do they have superior morals to her? Think about it. She won three elections on the trot, she must have done some right.
She did some horrendous things but she did some excellent things.

1948, I respect you and see what you are saying.
Unfortunately this person (irrelevant whether male or female.....I still think Thatchers gender is debatable

) divided this country like no other in recorded history.
I'm not political, but any political plus is absolutely swamped by the way she turned family against family. She divided the nation, of that most will not disagree.
To answer your point, I don't think it's a case of celebrating HER death, more a case of celebrating an evil influence that has now gone. Wiping that ugly slate clean if you will and moving on to better pastures.

For anyone who knows anything about "The Wizard of Oz", the song celebrates the death of the wicked witch of the
East.
Given that Mrs Thatcher and Ronald Reagan were the joint architects who brought down the evil empire in the East that was the Soviet Union (the Witch that took over the Motherland of Russia between 1917 and 1990), I think these clowns who are buying this may not realise that in reality the song can be seen as a vindication of the courage of the Iron Lady
The Russian people still view her as a hero today, and have been saddended by her death.
I don't think the sad people who are feebly attempting to relish in someone's death though would have the intelligence to realise all of that though
The only reason that they are behaving in this inhuman way however is because she achieved more in a few seconds than all the left wing loons have achieved for over a 100 years - and it just gets under their skin.
The fact they feel so strongly about her just shows how successful she really was
Just small minded people behaving in small minded ways.

Are you seriously comparing Mrs Thatcher with Adolf Hitler????????????????????
You are aware of how many people died in the 2nd World War? Even Mrs Thatcher's sternest critics would not attempt to draw that analogy.
I don't think such a crazy argument merits any further intelligent response.

Of course not, I'm trying to point you in the direction that just because "the people" feel so strongly about a person - as did most of pre war Germans with Hitler - doesn't make that person a success!

I don't think any "pro-Thatcher types" are saying that its childish to oppose her - in fact quite the opposite - a reasoned sensible critique of her premiership is fine and completely acceptable, whatever side of the political divide you fall upon.
I personally wouldn't even want to stop any gloating protests - such inhuman behaviour says far more about the people who want to engage in such events than it ever will about the Iron Lady - she would have never have belittled herself with such behaviour thankfully.

Well, she never lost a general election and won 3 general elections on the trot - 2 with complete landslides - within UK political terms, that's about as successful as you'll ever get.
I fully understand that many people actively opposed (even hated her policies), but in purely factual terms, she was successful in changing this country and moving the centre of politics to the right.
In a similar way, the Tories may have disliked Blair, but they would have to accept that he was successful - otherwise the word has no meaning.
You then move on to judge whether what she did with her success was good or bad - I suspect you would say bad (and I fully accept everyone's right to hold that view), but many others (I would say it's the majority). would take a different view.

Die Walkure, we''ll finish this converstaion on Monday.
I've gotta get the 8:30am train from Christchurch in the morning to get to Cardiff by noon for the match. If we win I'll get drunk, if we draw I'll get drunk, if we lose I'll get really drunk......but whatever way I will not be back home till Monday!
To be continued............

There are plans to release a pro thatcher song next week. I wonder if that gets banned?

Hang on, lets follow the logic of this.......
Some sad people get a campaign going to attempt to dishonour someone whose just died and this should be treated the same as a song that honours the person whose just died? yeah, ok, in your little world, perhaps those two things are the same, but they are not to anyone with a shred of decency in them
I'm not in favour of censorship though, and think the BBC are wrong to ban it, as the only people it reflects badly on are the sad & bitter loony left that are behaving in this puerile way, and whom Thatcher beat everytime she took them on
I think the song however is a perfect song as a legacy for the Iron Lady's achievements - the wicked witch of the
EAST (the Soviet Union) is no more
Well done Thatcher and Ronnie

Mario Polotelli wrote:Nevermind she killed communities in this country the Russian folk are grateful

Polo, I fully accept that the merits of her policies are debatable and provided they are done in a reasonable way, there is no problem at all - I don't agree with your point there, but that is a valid subject for debate.
However, the tone of much of the anti Mrs Thatcher rhetoric over the last few days only reflects badly on those who are spewing it out, and yet again, her enemies are playing right into her hands.....as they always did.
For example, I agree with much of what she did, but also opposed a lot of what she did, but this puerile bile that's come from the loony left over the last few days has made me far more strident in supporting her......I'm sure that most decent people feel the same, and many I've spoken to are far more against the left now than they were before because of their hateful approach to the death of an old lady.
