losing the title

Fri Apr 12, 2013 8:42 am

I was just wondering if you all thought losing title now would be a disapointment after being top so long and by quite a few points. I think it would and also may effect next seasons performance, as going up as champions gives u more confidence. I still firmly believe that we still be champions but wouldnt look forward to an end of season decider against hull needing a result wouldnt it be nice to go to that game knowing that we are already champions.

Reading were champions last year so it really doesn't effect next season in slightest

Of course it would - always nice to win something, especially after being top since November.

the way you go up has nothing to do with how you'll get on in the premiership, its the team you assemble that keeps you up!

Firstly, lets get over the line, (promotion) then start thinking about going up as champions, when/if we clinch promotion (4 more points will be enough) i think you'll see malky throw off the shackles and the team will play with a lot more freedom, saying that, for a team which has been top of the league for over four months i think we deserve to go up as champions, whatever the outcome it will have no effect on next seasons team as there will be a lot of new players arriving in the summer.

QPR and Reading both went up as champions, but both are probably coming back down this season. Sometimes the side that sneaks in through the play-offs does better.

At the moment, we just need to clinch promotion, and worry about everything else later. We're not there yet.

Clinching promotion is the most important but if we didn't go on to the title I would feel disappointed after being top for so long.

If we had thrown off the shackles against utter dross like Barnsley we would already be over the line.

Lets make no bones about this we are making hard work of it.

13 points out of 30, the luck we were enjoying over the winter wherby we were edging scrappy games, has well and truly come to a halt. Points are now starting to reflect performances.

I am sorry but with the money we have spent and squad we have assembled we should blowing teams like Barnsley and Peterborough out of the water. Not playing cagey, cagey 1-0 football.

At the moment I just want us promoted....when that is guaranteed we can then look at the title.

For me though after 51 years of hurt gettiing promoted will be a massive achievement in itself :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :malky:
