I got thinking last night just how big has the bellamy effect been for this club? . obviosuly hes made an undernying contribution on the pitch. take nothing away from anyone the team have all been outstanding
but, as a whole i think the bellamy effect has been signifficantly bigger to our success than we all realise, his constant presence and vocal contributions on a dailly basis around the side have given us a stronger mentality a different side to we have ever seen, I believe this is partly to malky but even in comparison to last season, we just have something different and the players respect him and want it that little bit more, his fearlessness and fire has inspired and rubbed off on every single player in this team.
basically he's set a premier league standard and malky mackay undoubtedly expects and challenges every player to take note and work in accordance to this.
For me pre season's, the most important thing is to ensure bellamy keeps a high level of fitness and ensure he's able to maintain his peak next season, I believe for his legacy he needs another season helping us to survive in the premier league.
at 34, this year It would be extremely hard for him to take a lay off and come back reach full fitness and stay in tip top condition all year. I think if malky takes the relevent process to keep him ticking over, through the break he has another one maybe two seasons in him close to his best.
This in my eyes will be better and more valueable than anyone signing we make
