But when you sober up you still got the pain

Mr Moo Cow, you have my utmost sympathy.
I am a fellow sufferer, and it is impossible to explain to someone who hasn`t had gout just how incredibly painful it is.
At the moment I am ok, but trying not to eat too many wrong foods that may trigger an attack!
You probably know this already, but April/May is the peak time for gout to strike.
They do not know why.

I take one Allopurinal tablet a day, it counteracts the uric acid, which causes gout, when you first start to take it, it can cause a gout attack, but trust me, you will not suffer gout again.

I suffer from gout and had my last attack over new year, so you got my sympathies
The only thing that eases it for me is dicflofex (voltoral), and i found cranberry juice shortened the length of the attack - nothing else touches it.
Hope its a quick attack

Diclofenic works really fast. Take 100mg in the night when it strikes and usually by morning the pain is fairly mild. Downside is that it fucks up liver enzymes and then docs tell you ur an alcoholic!
Fri Apr 12, 2013 4:22 pm
concentrated black cherry juice
its one of the best remedies out there

teaspoon of bicarb in a glass of water. Stir well, 2 or 3 drinks throughout the day then it should be gone by next day

My sympathies mate.
Had my first attack about 4 years ago. felt like someone poking hot needles into my big toe - thought I had some kind of infection in my toe - big, swollen and red (my right big toe that is !!).
went to doctor who took one look at it and said "gout" and with that poked my right big toe right on that boney joint - I nearly flew through the roof.
Never felt pain like it.
No one has yet mentioned the tablets he prescribed - "Colchicine" (he said try these) very , very small white tablets up to 4 a day when pain strikes - by god they work for me - when i feel it coming on i take them for a day and it goes away pretty smartish.
Ask your doc for these - works for me.
