Are Cardiff City fans the worst in UK?

Wed Apr 10, 2013 10:16 pm

Top of our league, looking certain for promotion to the 'best league in the world', not been there for 50+ years. Yet still a proportion of fans attempt to discredit the manager, many criticise the players, a few aren't renewing their season tickets-because of the colour shirt we wear and the atmosphere at our ground-IN A PROMOTION YEAR is pathetic!!

Sometimes in my life I am embarrassed by some of our fans, this is one of those times.

Seriously, what is wrong with some of you????????

We are on the brink of promotion, it may be a once in a life time experience!!!Enjoy it for f#cks sake!!!

I think the attitude of Tan has made people think differently. Whether thats a good or a bad thing it all depends on the individual you talk too I guess.

Some of our so called fans are absolute idiots but the lack of atmosphere as we near the prize is because of a collective nervousness due to the heartache we have had in past seasons personally I can't bring myself to sing 'The Blues are going up' until its a mathematic certainty :old:

Mate, some City fans have nothing better to do in life than moan and whinge about every aspect of the club, its management, its ownership and its fans

I wish I was so lucky!

We sit top of the league exactly the same as Southampton did last season, yet we are "lucky that everyone else is shite" whilst southampton were a great team, playing great football and with a great manager

The current 'trend' is to make michief over the 'red/blue' issue and use it as a tool to beat the man who (a) saved the club financially, (b) provide us with what is increasingly looking like the best managerial selection for many a year, (c) provided said manager with the funds/player with which to do the job, and finally (d) overseen our not so long ago ailing club perched at the top of the Championship tree on the verge of flying to The Premiership :ayatollah:

Not too much for them to be positive or grateful there then, eh? :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

If fans didn't care, the rebrand wouldn't be the most discussed topic. And the kit colour is part of the identity.

That's just your opinion, JonCCFC (the same as it is for all of us) ;)

We have debated this many times before and I remind you yet again that Cardiff City FC has not undergone an identity change; it has simply evolved in order to meet the increasing demands of a successful modern football club ;)

Red is not the worst thing that has or (maybe worse) could happen to Cardiff City FC. Not by a long chalk ;) :ayatollah:

It's more than just an opinion, it's common sense.

Blue was part of our identity, that's not even debatable. The club's name, crest and colour is all part of a club's identity. "Evolved"? It was just a case of Tan being selfish. We sold out identity, that's a fact.

No, mate, it isn't common sense, as it isn't a fact. It is simply (again) YOUR unsupported opinion ;)

Also, it has come to light elsewhere that we were promoted to the old Division 1 (then equivalent to The Premier League) in 'lucky' white in 1952, so that proves yet again that Cardiff City have often totally changed their colours (even if blue was the consistent one ;) ) and that the crowd that day was over 52,000

You have your reasons for wanting to return to blue 'at all costs' (even a return to the debt-ridden obscurity of the lower divisions  ) but please don't invent things to back up your theories. That does you an injustice ;) :ayatollah:

If you think the majority of football fans would take an identity change to go top of the league, you are very very wrong. If you want some sort of proof as you always seem to claim that I have nothing to back up my posts, try listening to fans from all clubs who have visited CCS this season who have been ripping into us because of the rebrand. :thumbright:

I havent enjoyed this season because of the colour change and the soul has been ripped out of our club. I can't see how any fan, who's been watching city for at least 10yrs, enjoy going to home games these days.

Spot on!!

I bet Wednesday fans would swap with us all day long????

Some Cardiff fans are never happy!!

I highly doubt the majority of Wednesday fans would take an identity change to be where we are though

Put Wednesday in the same perilous financial position that we were in then they quite possibly would.

Mate, some City fans have nothing better to do in life than moan and whinge about every aspect of the club, its management, its ownership and its fans

Exactly and that's why the vast majority of fans continue to support the club, it's only a small minority who still bring the identity thing up. Even in Red we are and always will be Cardiff City :malky:

Going back to the OP...Are Cardiff City fans the worst in the UK?

Im so happy. So happy and clappy and gay. With little fairies floating in the sky, spreading pixie dust as they fly.
With silver bells, and cockle shells and all little Tan dolls in a row.

BUMP

Back to the real world.

1: It is NOT an identity change; it's a shirt colour change and we are STILL called cardiff City FC :ayatollah:

2: Fans of 'other' clubs opinions are as important to us as ours are to them, i.e. not relevant and usually aimed at winding their opponents up (I use Swansea's caravan jibes as an example) and it's not as if we would do the same to them, is it?

3: You have continually made broad statements about the so-called 're-brand' and each one is unsupported by the facts; the main one of which is that 99% have reluctantly accepted the changes in return for a successful club and that includes your good self merely by your very attendance at home games. FACT! ;) :ayatollah:
