Interesting fact if correct

bloke who sits next to me at the football mentioned his first match he attended was April 16th 1952 and City clinched promotion to the top division ( what a plastic to turn up for his first game then ) Well we play Charlton on April 16th could this be an omen

As romantic as it sounds, unfortunately it is not true.

We gained promotion on the very last day of the 1951/52 season with a 3-1 victory at home to Leeds on May 3rd 1952.

Also we never played on April 16th 1952.

There is an interesting fact though that Cardiff City got promoted in :

1983
1993
2003
2013 ?

Carl beat me to it, but it wasn't the 51/52 season, but it most definitely was the 59/60 season, when we beat Aston Villa 1-0 (Moore) on the 16 of April 1960 in front of a crowd of 52364 at Ninian Park to clinch promotion back to the old First division.

We wore a white kit that day, which was considered "lucky" back then, i don't know why???
