But south of Hadrians wall , I would say hopefully as of next season, it will be us and the Jacks.
A number of reasons, just the right distance apart with a slight overlap in some areas, a bit like Leeds and Man U in their heyday.
In my opinion clubs that are to close together lose a bit of that "edge" needed to keep the tension there, to own up, I do have the odd Jack acquaintance, but I wouldn't want to work and socialise with too many too often, nice to keep a bit of edge to it.
Most other famous derbies, liverpool-Everton, Spurs- Arsenal, Man U- City, and quite a few others no longer have that edginess which made it so tense, it's all a bit sterile now, and I'm not advocating violence, but most fans will know where I'm coming from.
Anyway, back to the original point I was trying to make, next year's derby will catch the attention worldwide and it will be rightly built up into a great rivalry and derby, and to think it will be in the Premiership is amazing.![]()

Every derby is the same, we aren't more special than the others.

What other Derby has the restrictions we have old ManBut ours is defo the most volatile. Our supporters could never walk to the game together and i take into account the Scarfers in this. Even then it would be a riot

Rangers Celtic have played each so many times it seems like (Coz i haven't experienced it) it has lost it edge. For ours it's not about numbers its the hatred and the sheer wanting to win at all costs. In some ways our fans next season would give loosing every game if we beat them twice. The feeling when we play is of Butterflies in my stomach to the sheer wanting to kill them on and if it was possible off it.
The Sheffield Derby sounds proper tasty if i am honest and one i would love to taste.
