Taking Our Chances !

Wed Apr 10, 2013 7:56 am

7 extra minutes of injury time did cost us last night. Where that came from who knows.

However what is more concerning is the fact that we do need to be more clinical in and around the box. Yes, Bellamy hit the post and Steele pulled off a few cracking saves however when the chances come along we don't seem to bury them. Even though we scored 3 against Blackburn we should have scored 7 or 8. We created 23 chances against Brighton but we did not get on the score sheet. There have been many games recently where we have scraped the 1-0 victory. Thats great if it comes off but like last night one fluke and its 2 points gone. Our goal threat seems to have gone backwards whether thats because of the team selections who knows. It would have been great to see Noone last night. He carries that extra attacking threat particularly at home against a bottom 6 team. I was surprised that he did not start against Blackburn as well.

Last night we did have the chances to kill the game off but they were not taken. It was also quite noticeable that around the edge of the Barnsley box we lost the ball so many times because players were taking too many touches, short passes amongst themselves until we lost the ball. If in and around the box lets go for goal. No attempt then you have no chance of scoring. Instead of the 1-0 leads and sitting back lets go for it and kill teams off. Forest is going to be a tough game and we need to take the chances that come our way. :ayatollah:
