Honest view

My view of tonight's game

The tactics were right but the team selection was wrong we needed more pace with noone or Conway on the wing instead of smith !

First half was poor due to failing to break down a stubborn defense minded team and our centre backs annoying insistence on trying there best to hit the ball over the stand and into the car park behind barnsley a goal !

Kimbo looked fantastic in his more advanced role , he should play there everygame now behind the striker IMO

Barnett was motm

Substitutions were like for like not defensive or negative I can't really see people's problem with them , kimbo ran his arse off all game and was dead on his feet when he went off , smith the same and mason was pretty ineffective throughout against a big strong barnsley defence who bullied him tbh

Whitts looked fantastic in the more advanced role when he came on and set up our 3 best chances ( apart from the goal ) with his range of passing through there defence , not the best tackler defensively but that wasn't his job tonight really he was the playmaker .

Mutch is proving all his doubters wrong lately and is looking premier league class with everygame that goes by :malky:
:ayatollah:

Personally thought the ref had a decent game :?: didnt see much he got wrong

The crowd seemed a lot more optimistic and a hell of a lot louder in the second half , the atmosphere at times was the best I've heard down there in months :ayatollah:

We were unlucky to only get a point but its still another point toward promotion
Blaming malkey for tonight is harsh it just wasn't our night , when forest come down Saturday and play a more open game we will play a lot better and will win :malky:

Bring on Saturday , we will win , Watford will lose and they will then only be able to catch us on goal difference and we will be all but up , keep the faith the team needs us behind them not bickering :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Team starting was ok, I think the subs messed it up more.

My preference would have been Noone instead of Smith personally.

I can understand MM not wanting to play Noone and Bellers wide in a 4-4-2 but in a 4-5-1 I dont see any reason why they both canr play.

The lack of a clinical edge showed. Typical Cardiff to have Maynard and Campbell out at the same time. My worry now is MM will rush FC back too soon like he did Hudson and end his season.

We are unlucky to lose both but it does show a lack of depth upfront.

I think we may see Rudy on Sat

I agree with RFMH, we simply are not clinical enough without FC up front, & if he's not fit for the Forest game, then i foresee a similar result as tonight.

I would have liked to have seen Rudy from the start today against there big defenders.

Not a great fan of Rudy, but agree, I think he would have been much more effective last night.

Agreed Thomas, we couldn't really have done much more. The keeper had a couple of good saves and we passed up a number of opportunities to put the game to bed.

The subs were like for like and Conway coming on instead of Noone suggested that Malky couldn't see us getting a second goal as we passed up chances and opted to tighten up. We were kicking it into corners at the end when there was passes on and that disappoints me, a bit more cuteness in our use of the ball in the dying seconds and we're all buzzing.

I thought Kim was starting to tire and it was the right sub at the time, the late goal gives people the chance to nitpick though. It was a freak goal. Malky had no complaints with the justification for time after 5 minutes however, like him, i was miffed it was 5 to begin with. In the first half there was 1 minute added on yet the physio was on at least twice. Little things like that will grate on us.

6 subs - 30 secs each - 3 mins
1goal -30seconds
Injury to mcnaughton -30seconds
Injury to turner when we kicked the ball out 30 seconds

That's all I can think of as to why it was given :?

It's a shame but its still a valuable point , I can see our players being pissed off with that result and going straight for forests throat Saturday not being down and dwelling on it :ayatollah:

Yep, steam at them like we did Blackburn. We shouldn't fear anyone as we have players to hurt anybody. Would like to see Noone and his pace used at the weekend.
