How Poor A Season End Can We Have & STILL Go Up (09/04/2013)

The chasing pack remains at 3 clubs. The task is still the same for us, but it did get a little more difficult for Watford. The chasing clubs STILL need to finish the season on as good a form as they have been on at any point in the last 7 months.

The previous table of this sort had us only needing a 1-2-3 finish, that just changes to 1-2-2 so still on track. It however shows that Watford cannot now afford a 4-0-1 finish and even a 4-1-0 would not help then if we get 5pts more.

I think we still only need 5pts. That leaves the others needing massive finishes

0-2-3 finish & Palace STILL can't catch us even with a 5 win, 100% finish.
1-2-2 finish & Watford STILL can't catch us even with a 4-1-0 finish.

So now ......
7pts definitely up (1pt less).
5pts & even a 4-1-0 Watford finish is no good (Used to be 4-0-1).
3pts & amazingly a 3-2-0 for Watford would not help them (Used to be 3-1-1).

Would it make this table more palatable if I said.....

2 wins and 3 losses for us would mean Watford having to win ALL their remaining games to catch us?

Yeah true, we have to go up from the position we are in, as many have said we are better off where we are than where the chasing pack are

It is all on Watford really if they lose one game.

It's a whole lot simpler to say we need 7 points from our last five games what ever happens does not matter.

If Watford lose one and draw one, they can only get 81pts and we all know how close we are to 82pts.

Lets hope they do that then and one win and we are there cos palace can only get 81 pts
