Yes of course if we could afford him at the time that is :ayatollah:

He would be ideal for this squad.

Even at his age he still puts a good shift in like a MM player.

we need a right back.

Perfect for a season. but what are his wages like?

His brother would give us good reviews as well. :ayatollah:

But personally I would prefer a younger quicker full back, but do see his "experience" benefits.

He generally plays DM now and not at RB. I think in Gunnarson we have a brilliant DM and I think Mutch could also put in a shift in DM. However, his experience and know how would be 2nd to none and would help players such as Gunnar, Kiss and Mutch with their development.

He would be a great signing in my opinion, although he may not be able to play 90 minutes of every game just having someone with that sort of experience in the camp will be brilliant. If he talks the same sort of sense as his brother he could be an excellent coach after retirement too!

Well as of June he is unemployed.
He prob signed his current deal some years ago so I wouldn't think he would get his current wage again, he is currently
36 so although he will prob pick up a decent amount I don't think it will be obscene.

At 36, I don't think he is good enough anymore but seeing an article about how much of an inspiration his professionalism is to other players he could be a versatile and experienced squad option.

I tend to agree here as good as he was if Everton are showing him the door then we should take heed, besides I still think Malky/The Club will surprise us all in the summer.

how much you think we are talking?

i would be uncomfortable if we had ANY player on more than 40k a week next season. If we can limit the wages to below that i think we will be ok.

for neville, i imagine he is on about that figure now, perhaps a bit more.

I honestly think that this seasons has proved he's over the hill now. If we somehow manage to contrive to f**k it up and avoid promotion then he'd be ideal but we need younger, fresher options than Phil Neville. Would make an excellent coach though, hope the game do not lose him to the media side of things.

Obviously guess work but I'd say he is on about 30k now but I don't think he will be in a position to demand the same next season.
20k max imo

I was scanning the Barnsley forum and somebody said the same thing.

If(when) we stop up,we could do a lot worse than offer the lad a player coach role

Re: Phil Neville

he'd be a brilliant signing and he's going to be involved with England Under 21's this summer so maybe he would have a bit of influence with bringing some of those lads here in the future?
