A mate of mine had a spare ticket for Liverpool v west spam yesterday so I ended up going.
I've been to anfield before but never in day light hours, I was very surprised how run down all the streets around the ground are. Loads of streets with boarded up homes.
I was also taken back by how busy the club shop was. It's under the kop and spans about 3quarters of the length. 2 hours before kick off it was packed mainly with tourists.
I spent a good half our waiting outside for my mate and his son and there were many many nationalities incl Germans, a couple of Mexicans, yanks, chinese, Spanish absolutely loads.
The atmosphere was on a par with ours... West spam sang for a bit as all away fans do but nothing like us and Liverpool sang the usual but during the match only bits of singing from the home fans.
James Collins had a decent game but looks like a serial killer with his mis shaped bald head.
Wasn't a bad day out, quite a few south Wales coaches, castell and nat had a couple there. About 5 coaches from south Wales numerous from north Wales and quite a few from other English areas. Coaches pick up in nantgarw and tesco western avenue.
Hopefully we can stick a few past them home and away next season
