How Poor A Season End Can We Have & STILL Go Up - UPDATED

Sat Apr 06, 2013 11:15 pm

So the chasing pack is down to 3 clubs and those clubs need to finish the season on as good a form as they have been on at any point in the last 7 months

image.jpg

If anyone is still concerned just look at what the others have to do just to get close to us.

My last table of this sort suggested we only needed a finish of 2 wins and we could afford 5 losses, that meant 6pts. I think we could now only need 5pts and remember that is with the others having stunning finishes

1-2-3 finish & Palace STILL can't catch us even with a 5 win, 100% finish. :ayatollah:
1-2-3 finish & Watford STILL can't catch us even with a 4-0-1 finish. :ayatollah:

So ......
8pts definitely up. :ayatollah:
5pts & even a 4-0-1 Watford finish is no good. :ayatollah:
3pts & amazingly a 3-1-1 for Watford would not help them. :ayatollah:

By those results we would end up second place due to Watford having a better goal difference. But can't see us doing that bad :ayatollah:

Edit: Woops just noticed its Hull so you are correct we would finish top

Win on Tuesday and we are up I have no doubt about that. Mathematics will say other teams could get more points but in the final mix I think 82 points will be enough.

I agree castleblue.

It just seems alien to think a win on Tuesday can do it, it just seems too early. City fans are conditioned to think its a lot harder than it looks.

We get 82pts and Watford would need 11pts from 15. Basically 4 wins from 5 games or 3 wins & 2 draws with no losses. Could be all done and dusted by Next Saturday at 4:55pm. :ayatollah:

I have a feeling P'boro will hold Watford on Saturday to at least a draw, which means if we can beat Barnsley on tues, then Saturday could be the day with a win against forest.

Let's get past tues first though :ayatollah:

Our run in on paper may look more difficult with games against Forest, Bolton & Hull at the top then Barnsley needing pts, but Watford have no easy task.

They play Peterborough at a time when they still need pts to survive, then a nice little trip across London to play Millwall. They then play Blackburn who by then could be at last chance saloon and will need 3pts in front of their own fans followed by Leicester at a time when they may still be in a shot of the play offs.

Tonight's update of this table has already been created three times for the three outcomes. They have been stuck on the inter webs cloud ready for attaching to one of three posts that I have held in draft format on this message board.

The correct table will be posted as we leave the CCS.

Now THAT my friends is what is commonly known in the normal world as, VERY, VERY, SAD.

Will do, as long as no on trips me going down the concrete steps. I won't be looking where I'm going staring at my phone. :D

I did Luton, straight after the game. It was a sticky for a little bit then seemed to disappear onto the second page. I think people were either bored of the stats or annoyed by the draw. :D
