Amazing - Palace vs Barnsley kit clash

"Referee Kevin Stroud has decided Barnsley's kit is too similar to Crystal Palace's, so Barnsley will wear Palace's away kit."

This is hilarious, has anyone heard of anything like this happening before?

Ive seen it happen a couple of times in the lower leagues on the football league show , not at this level though

If my memory serves me right I believe it happened to us some years ago when we played Oxford away (in fact I think it was the league cup tie when Winston Faeber scored his wonder goal).
We had mistakenly packed our yellow away kit which clashed with Oxford's gold shirts and so we were forced to wear their white away kit.
If I'm wrong I'm sure someone will quickly shout at me!!

yes 1975-76 season when we got promotion early in the season I went to Mansfield where we turned out in a dirty looking white kit which turned out to be there 3rd strip with a hastily sewn on bluebird badge the ref had apparently decided our away kit clashed with their home kit.
We won 4-1 though which proves looks aren't everything

Barnsley played the game with Palace yellow kit with the Palace players names on the back of their shirts - SSN

I remember going back to the late 70's, Middlesbough took their red home kid to Old Trafford to play United, and so had to borrow Man City's home kit

Clydebank hosted St Mirren at their arch rivals Greenock Morton's ground a few years back.

Saints turned up with the wrong kit and ended up having to play in Morton strips, can't think of much worse than that!

If we have no blue away kit next season and we go up to Old Trafford the kit man should leave the black kit at home and then we'd have to wear United's blue kit instead of our black kit.
