Mark Halsey in charge at Vicarage Rd.

Fri Apr 05, 2013 3:34 pm

The hugely experienced Premier League referee Mark Halsey takes charge of Watford v Cardiff.

Referee
He will be assisted by Matthew Wilkes and Michael McDonough. The Fourth Official is Lee Collins.

Mark Halsey's first game of this season was Cardiff's 0 - 0 draw at Brighton. If his last game in charge of the Bluebirds this campaign ends the same way at Watford I don't there'll be many City fans unhappy with that outcome.

At Christmas he was in charge of City 1 - 0 Millwall.

Halsey has a long history and we can find him in charge of City games back as far as 1997. That was a Football League Trophy defeat at home to Millwall but soon after in early 1998 he was in charge of Cardiff 7 - 1 Doncaster.

He has overcome a cancerous tumour in his throat and is respected as one of the countries top referees.

This season in 26 games he's issued 47 yellow cards and 3 red.

Good ref, I fail to see how he was demoted over the Callum McManaman challenge, yet the FA chose to take no further action

Not his fault he can't see through other human beings.

If i remember right at home this season he had a great game as he hardly blew his whistle and tried to let play go on as often as possible.
