Turner wants high standards.

On Saturday, Championship leaders City face fellow promotion-hopefuls Watford, who are third in the table, eight points behind the Bluebirds.

Malky Mackay's side have only won two of their last six games, but Turner is drawing confidence from their last result - the win over Rovers.

"The win against Blackburn was great for confidence and if we play like that on a regular basis over these remaining games we'll get the job done," Turner told walesonline.co.uk. If we play as we did against Peterborough (2-1 defeat) we will struggle against Watford.

"But if we play, as a team, to the levels we reached against Blackburn, particularly in the first half, then Watford could struggle. Our job is to ensure we are at our best as a team. We were all bitterly disappointed after Peterborough. The pitch didn't help, while maybe once we were in front there was a tendency to try and protect what we had rather than building on it. That's one of the factors that came out of our regular post-match team debrief. We have to keep pressing for 90 minutes."

Saturday's match at Vicarage Road will see the Championship's most prolific attack come up against one of the division's best defences. Gianfranco Zola's Hornets have scored 76 goals in their 40 league games so far while Cardiff have conceded just 40 goals, putting them behind only Leicester and level with Brighton as the team who are tightest at the back.
