Watford v Cardiff City - Referee appointment

Fri Apr 05, 2013 12:31 pm

Mark Halsey.

Last refereed us: Cardiff City 1 Millwall 0 (29th December 2012)
Prior to that, a 0-0 draw at Brighton (21st August 2012)

total stats for the season:

Yellow Cards 57
Red Cards 3

Number of Cards in games involving Cardiff:

v. Brighton (Jordon Mutch)
v Millwall (Craig Conway and Millwall's Liam Trotter)

Mark Halsey has not refereed Watford either home or away this season, perhaps whatever hospitality he received from our club he should be reminded of when thinking whether to give us a penalty or not! ;)

He's a very good ref. Happy with that.

You know it's a big game when we're talking about the ref appointment

I should have added that Mark Halsey was also the referee that failed to send off Wigan's Callum McManaman after that challenge against newcastle, after that he was demoted to referee a league one game v coventry, so I don't think he's going to be out to do anything "controversial"....well hopefully

Also he originates from Hertfordshire, Welwyn Garden City I believe

I think he is pointing out that he was born very close to Watford (a matter of miles away).

He was a good ref against Millwall iirc. He let he gane flow and didn't nlow for evrry silly little challenge, good use of advantage.

Mark Halsey has done 15 of our games over the years win only 3 wins, 6 draws and 6 losses.

He has only done 5 Watford games over the years with 1 win, 1 draw and 3 losses.

If things go to form, with Mark, it looks like we will get at least a draw and that will do nicely. :D
