It's a shame their Swan friends didn't sell their identity, or they might be challenging to become a premiership team, instead of scraping out results in the championship. Oh, wait..

Name me another club that has debt levels SIX times the clubs yearly income while having a wage bill at 120% of annual income.
You won't be able to as there aren't any.

CBF to look for numbers but at a guess, Leicester and Bolton would be close. Difference is, we are going to get a healthy slice of the premier league pie next year and they aren't
VT will convert debt to equity and we will be a debt free premier league club, or that is how my day dreams go anyway.
How do you know our wage bill or income for this year?

Well then you are wrong to assume as neither do. Our income was around £15m last year with wages around the £16m mark. Wages have increased majorly and I very much doubt the income has increased significantly - if at all. As last year we had a cup run.

What are the figures for Bolton and Leicester respectively, at work and cant get anything to load. I remember boltons wage bill was > 50 mil when they got relegated, pretty much all the same players there and Prem clubs aren't know for putting intelligent clauses in contracts so gotta assume its at least 45 mil, surely their turnover in the championship wont be > 40 mil even including parachute payments. As for debt, they were in 120 million debt in 2011 I think.
Either way, it doesn't really matter if we are the worst, the plain fact is the majority of clubs in the Prem and the Championship couldn't service their debts if they were asked to repay them now. All the clubs are at the point where they are relying on a benefactor (VT etc) so its no real difference. What practical difference would it make if we were 800 million in debt to VT rather than 80?

Bolton are looking to reduce their wage bill. They were paying normal wages for a club of their size and income at the time. Relegation from the premier kills clubs due to this reason, see Portsmouth, they aren't gambling now either as they have their hands tied with their financial position forced upon them, they can just hope they go straight back up.
We are paying ridiculous wages and transfer fees for a club of our size and position in the football league - that's why we are gambling, where as Bolton are in a poor financial position due to a relegation.
As for whats the difference in being in £800m debt or £80m debt - although it's closer to £120m as the stadium was down as a saleable asset, which it isn't really. Just creative book keeping.... That is down to VT. should we get relegated, I don't see why he would continue to foot a £20 million plus bill every year to keep us afloat with the minimal exposure of the Championship when he would have got his money's worth already after one season in the prem if he does what some believe and secure long term advertising contracts with his own businesses.
