Football / Hooliganism - How I see it....

Tue Apr 02, 2013 8:57 pm

In a few years time I genuinely believe that many working class fans will be priced out / disillusioned with the modern game, soulless stadiums, lack of atmosphere, prawn sarnie brigade etc.
I can then see a lot of the non-league clubs being targeted for away days by the hoolies (Nuneaton, Kettering, telford are a few that I know have caused problems on the road this year) as lower profile matches will attract less police attention.

I may be way off, but it's just what ive been thinking more and more lately. :ayatollah:

No offence, mate, but you're hardly Mystic Meg with that comment. It's been going on for years (take a look at the well watched clip of Mansfield v Newport as an example) and may well grow - or it might not, if the polizei wise up to it.

We won't be there, so it'll only affect us if we bump into one of their firms on our travels. I guess we'll have to wait and see about that.

I dont think its a working class problem, and the reason its moving down the leagues is not because its more affordable its because the people involved know it wont happen in the PL now and the chance of a row in L2 conference etc is much higher with lesser risk..
