Absolutely huge game.
Best of luck, may the best team win.
Tue Apr 02, 2013 8:52 pm
Not absolutely huge. It is a big game yes, but it's not the end of the world if we were to lose.
Tue Apr 02, 2013 8:53 pm
Its not the end of the world, you would still be in the driving seat. But with your recent form it would be a slightly wobbly driving seat?
Tue Apr 02, 2013 8:55 pm
Bigger game for Watford than us, but it will make promotion A LOT more likely if we win.
Gutted I couldn't get a ticket, I'll be down the pub though watching it on Sky.

It's a bigger game for you guys. You needed a win tonight and you got it (Congrats),And the same applies on Saturday.
A draw would be good for us, but you need all three. If you lose on Sat and Hull win then tonight's result means little.
We have a game in hand as a cushion but we aren't looking at it like that. Every game is an individual result for us, the old cliche of one game at a time.
Pressure is all on you This Saturday.
As you say though "May the best team win".
Tue Apr 02, 2013 8:57 pm
im not sure about the pressure. we have already far exceeded our own expectations. we are pretty much in the playoffs and now can just aim to win every game remaining.

I don't think we will lose in all honesty. This season we usually win big games against promotion rivals at home or away.

What five points clear with a game in hand????
We have four home games to come after that game, three home in a row and only two away, we are up it's between you, Hull and Palace for 2nd, and I think Forrest will win the playoffs, so it's massive for you but not for us
Ps I think we will win, We were back on full form yesterday and will have that extra days rest and have a big squad, and our players care, they are not all loan players that don't really care what happens.....
Tue Apr 02, 2013 9:00 pm
Not for us we got a game in hand and are 8 points better than you, looks like all the pressure is on Watford
Tue Apr 02, 2013 9:02 pm
Blackburn on Sat was bigger for us after our loss at Peterborough.
After you, we've got 3 home games in a row so I'm confident whatever happens on Sat.
Your win tonight opens things up a bit though and race for second is fascinating.
Tue Apr 02, 2013 9:02 pm
Sold out away end, away team trying to win the league, home team battling for 2nd, big atmosphere, live on Sky Sports...
VERY similar to our game against QPR two seasons ago at home, only we're going for the title.

Congrats to watford tonight, zolas done a terrific job
I expect city to earn at least a point. These are the games we follow football for.
Fair play to you hornet fan you havent just jumped on the promotion bandwagon ,you were on here last season when watford were potentially fighting relegation

Dont be daft, you and I know its huge, we cant hide behind the table yet. If we win, its pretty much a done deal, if we lose then those doubts kick in! 'OMG, what if we lose to a Barnsley team on fantastic form!' Im sick and tired of those kinda doubts, I want it settled. ITS A HUGE GAME!

Massive game for Watford , not for us we would still be 5pts clear with game in hand and our form is turning around won 2 out of last 3

haha not sure we have too many glory fans really, we dont have many fans tbh.
born in watford general and went to my first game in '94.
I agree the game for us is potentially huge, well the reward is huge.
btw whoever said our loanees dont care, vydra sprinted across the pitch from the subs bench to celebrate when the final whistle went. if only all our permanently contracted players in the past had shown so much spirit.

I think you being a bit disrespectful to even contemplate a wobbly driving seat for us.
Over the whole of the season we haven't had a sustained period of bad results. We have won many games where we have been poor.
Both point to one thing- SUCCESS!!
We have never looked beyond our next match and we have never dwelled on the previous result.
But here is something for you to consider.....
When we lost to Peterborough at home we then went on to win our next four matches including wins against Leicester and Palace who at the time were positioned exactly where you and Hull are now.
If that happens again, not only will we be promoted but we will be the champions.
So again, the pressure is on you to keep up the chase. 6 games left mind.
Tue Apr 02, 2013 10:07 pm
but i dont think you get it aj. there is no pressure because no one expects us to catch you? the only reason we need to win is to get above hull, but we have already exceeded our expectations. all im saying is if you lose to us then there is potential for you to still be caught.
for what its worth i still think you will win the league, i cant see you losing the three games we need you to. at the same time i still think we will win on saturday, we were unlucky to lose at yours last time round.
Tue Apr 02, 2013 10:12 pm
Genuinely believe we'll win the league before if we win. Three home games after that.
Tue Apr 02, 2013 10:12 pm
"Everyone will have their part to play in the next seven games."
Having reestablished some breathing space at the top of the table, Cardiff next face a trip to third-placed Watford - Mackay's former club - on 6 April.
However, the Hornets must go to second-placed Hull City on Tuesday evening and those two games are likely to have a significant impact on who finishes in the two automatic promotion places to reach the Premier League.
"It's easy to say [winning at Watford], it's not quite as easy to do," said Mackay.
"They've been doing very well this season.. they're a great club and there's some fantastic people that work there that I know very well.
"So it'll be great to go back there on Saturday night... it's one that we'll be really looking forward to."

Were you at that game, you were f*cking abysmal down here, only seemed to come to life when Anya was brought on.
Tue Apr 02, 2013 10:18 pm
No I get it, but I think your missing my angle mate.
You face us on Saturday at 17:20 by that time Hull city could've regained there advantage on you and the chasing pack could've also gained ground. For us there's not much to change. Hull could either be 7 or 4 points behind us and we still have a game in hand.
Tue Apr 02, 2013 10:21 pm
One of the biggest games in The Championship this season, hence it being televised by Sky.
Watford would love to go up, whether or not their current position is a surprise.
The truth is, I'm not going, so we're almost certain to win. I've been to 8 away games this season (including Macclesfield in the FA Cup) and we've drawn 2 and lost 6. WE ARE BOUND TO WIN ON SATURDAY.
We are due some good performances now, just like yesterday and I can't see us letting it slip with only 7 games left, I really can't.
We don't fear anyone in the run-in, but I'm damn sure they should fear us.
Tue Apr 02, 2013 10:24 pm
Ignoring Watford game for a moment.
If Cardiff beat Barnsley and Charlton at home and draw with Bolton and Burley
Watford would need to win 17 points out of 18
Hull would need 16 out of 18
So losing V Watford, Hull and Forest while two teams get near perfect results for the rest of the season.

Watford and their 9 men outplayed us? (They did have 2 sent off remember). They did not out play us imo, but they weren't abysmal.

if it wasnt for the sendings off we wouldnt have won thats for sure .... but we did

and its luck like that thats served us well this season ..... we have been brilliant in other seasons and ended up with feck all ... this is our season and we deserve it!

Big game for both sides but a bigger game for Udinese B if they want to go up automatically
