Well, Well, Well

Mon Apr 01, 2013 6:50 pm

Malky finally pulls his head out of his arse and drops his under performing favourites, brings in the creativity we have been crying out for and we put in the best performance for months.

It was nice to be entertained for a change.

More of the same until end of season please. :malky:

It was the selection that the fans have been calling for the past month or so.

And the rest!!

I only feel sorry for Whitts. Malky finally plays Gunar in DM allowing other 2 mids to burst forward and Whitts is dropped.

Im sure Whitts would love to play the role Mutch played today.

As soon as he came on he went to quarterback.......Although Gunner slide the pass in for Mason but everytime Gunner has a shot from 20 yards would you prefer whitts to be hitting it.

Do u think Whittingham would have run at their defence the way Mutch did today? I don't think he would have myself he's more likely to try pick a pass. True what you say though the fans have been calling for this for last couple of weeks now. :ayatollah:

Malky deserves big credit today, 4 changes I think from last Sat? And the team balance was brilliant.

Was nice to see Gunnar receive the ball and have a touch and look around. Akers such a difference.

We've all been saying Whitts should be rested or moved forward, but unfortunately his confidence is battered now .
He's the same guy that caused havoc earlier in the season, glad he got a great reception when he came on and that he got a goal.
Malky has to keep them all guessing now and busting a gut to be in that Championship winning side! :ayatollah: :malky:

He goes where Malky tells him and was brought on to keep the ball. Which he did.

Crowd was getting on his back for this bizzarely although he had last laugh as it was his ball to Gunnar who played it to Mason for the 2nd. Crowd were calling for Whitts to shoot.

The free scoring Whitts under Jones yes. The stifled Whitts under Malky no.

The main thing wasn't dropping whits it was playing 3 in midfield. I've no doubt whits would have played a lot better in recent months in this formations a opposed to only having gunner with him against the extra man in midfield a lot of teams have played against us.

Dont wont to piss on peoples chips here but that was an awful Blackburn team devoid of well wanting to live. I can see them going down.

I hope Malky keeps the same team against Watford. That will be a bigger test.

Yes ive already touched on that.

It was good to see the likes of Kim, Mutch, Joey Mason get the nod ahead of Smith, Cowie, Helguson, Gestede.etc

In that formation at home would like to see Noone on he flank instead if Conway

Malky has set us up to play far too negative of late. Today was how we should be playing, at home, especially. Let's hope we see more of these performances between now and the end of the season and dare i say it, in the Prem next season. :malky:

it ws an awful blackburn performance agreed, but we were excellent.. why doesnt kimbo play more often? full of running, movement, looking for the ball, winning it back. superb all round play.. also impressed with mutch today, was very good...

speaking of blackburn mind, david bentley, danny murphy, morten gamst pedersen. david dunn, leon best. all played regular premiership football and we made them look poor...

Agreed. I was hoping noone would come on for Conway. I've been critical of noone of late but with more possession I think he could get back to what he does best and terrorise the full back.

Kim was sheer quality today and surely now he will keep his place, so whits in for a battle. Can't be bad.

Good O/P Polo.

Fully agree - I really enjoyed watching football today.
A change was needed and is most welcome.

I contributed to your 'anti-football' thread on sat as I agreed with that too

Perhaps Malky is more of a manager than I assumed lately.

Well done Malky, well done the boys

Mutch looked like the player I saw against Newcastle in Pre Season in terms of his ability.
