They showed the incident with Turner on SSN and it is about 3 yards inside box !! Even the SSN team were shocked that it was given as a free kick outside the box!
Fortunately Blackburn were so poor it didn't affect the game.
On paper the Blackburn squad looks so strong but the players have obviously been affected by the off the field activities as there is no way that team should be near the bottom

The one with Turner getting kicked in the face wasn't a penalty. Here me out though, it was clearly in the box. Should've been an indirect free kick.

You only get indirect free kicks for back passes to the keeper or obstruction, not for kicking people (accidentally or not) in the head/face............. Nailed on pen

if its indirect why did ref dive direct freekick?

If a foul is given for dangerous play it should be an indirect free kick, even in the box. A foul given for anything else is a direct free kick, and if awarded in the box, a penalty. Although referee's rarely give indirect free kicks in the box for this, I am pretty sure this is the actual rule. If someone has the official rule for it to clarify then that would be good, but that's what I have been brought up to know.
Anyway doesn't really matter, convincing 3-0 win at home to boost our automatic promotion push

Sort of agree, if it was for his foot being too high up then yes in direct free kick, however because he actually caught turner with his boot them I think it has to be a pen.

But the ref gave us a
DIRECT free kick outside the box, when turner was clearly kicked two yards inside the area.

The referee and linesman the left of the canton were a disgrace and should be dropped to sunday league level
They dithered over turners nailed on pen and bottled giving it-shambolic
Thank god it didnt cost us and a miracle bellers didnt get booked for desent

If we had a player like Gayle in our team we would probable have loads of penalties this season, & Whittingham's goal tally would be in double figures by now.
The last time we had loads of penalties for us was when Jay Bothroyd played for us!

I haven't seen it on TV but at the time I thought the incident happened outside the box.
One thing for sure though whether it was a pen or not, the referee was a complete prick.
