Credit to Malky Mackay

You've gotta give credit to our manager this season, he's made great team and formation decisions time and time again, in the past we've all got a bit irritated with the rigid 4-5-1 formation, but a he's brought in quality players that's given him the necessary options to put together this serious title bid.

I think that dropping Whitts today was the final shred of evidence that Malky believes no player to be bigger than the club itself and he is willing to drop ANY player not pulling in the same direction as the rest of the team or as Whitts was, in dire need of a rest.

Malky has transformed our fortunes and deserves serious credit however this season ends

Well happy with the way players that came in today stepped up and showed us that there more than capable of being in the starting line up. Mutch and Kimbo were brilliant today! :ayatollah:

Spot on credit where its due, he recognised we've become a bit stale of late and had the bollocks to switch it up, it could've been easy for Malky to try and play safe and grind out another win but instead made four changes.

The balance of Gunnars, Mutch and Kimbo in centre midfield today was superb. Completely bossed it, really complemented each other well.

With Bellars and Conway out on the wings we had genuine outlets to hurt Blackburn, with both full backs backing them up.

Fraizer Campbell's work rate and movement was a nightmare for the Blackburn defence and was unlucky not to get more than just his one goal.

And I thought Barnett and Turner were really solid and grew into the game as it went on, a well deserved clean sheet for marshall and his defence.

All in all a brilliant team performance, was a great feeling leaving the ground today with 3 points knowing that we played some really top stuff ! :ayatollah: :malky: :ayatollah: :malky:

Agree with all this. Should have been done 5 games ago but here we are. Same starting line up for Watford and it would be good for Nooney to get run. Hope Campbell's injury is not too serious. Kimbo a stand out today. Nice to see the Ninian standing and singing nearest the away today too. Singing "We'll stand where we want" at one stage - I'm presuming the stewards were trying to get people to sit down? Anyone see it? Pleased that Whitts got a goal today. We needed that 3-0 win today. Best football we've played in months really. :malky: :ayatollah: :malky: :ayatollah:

Cardiff boss Malky Mackay delighted to be seven points clear after 3-0 win over Blackburn

Last Updated: April 1, 2013 7:05pm

Cardiff manager Malky Mackey paid tribute to the "character and mentality" of his side after their 3-0 win over Blackburn.

Goals from Fraizer Campbell, Joe Mason and a Peter Whittingham penalty gave Cardiff a commanding seven-point cushion over Hull at the top of the Championship table.

The manner of the victory was especially pleasing for Mackay as they inflicted a fifth defeat in eight games on lowly Rovers.

"I'm absolutely delighted with the position we're in and this win gives us that little gap with seven games to go," said Mackay.

"I've a group who have been up there for four months to be analysed, criticised, shot at, ignored and studied, but we have stayed in the top position. We have shown a great character and mentality within our team.

"We are fighting every inch to make sure we give our supporters the dream they want.

"The performance and result was very pleasing. We started really well and we were relentless.

"We looked like a team that dominated from start to finish. That doesn't happen too many weeks in this division."
