FINAL LEAGUE TABLE Based on 8 Game Current Form (31/03/2013)

Here is the projected finish pts based on each teams form over the last 8 games. I've added Millwall as they have 2 games in hand. After the next round of games I hope to remove a few clubs. The last column is what can be gained from a 100% finish to the league and we all know that's not possible for either Hull or Watford.

Only Hull and Birmingham increased their projected pts total compared to the last round of games (Columns 11 &12).

We currently have the worst form guide of the top 6, but hey, that's why we have points to spare.

It's Hull vs Watford on Tuesday which will make a big change to the form table.

Leicester & Boro are having a mare. Remember when it was them and us at the top? That Manager of the Month award really did kick them in the teeth.

I have greyed out Leeds & Birmingham because they cannot catch us now. Where's LeedsServiceCrew when you want to show him something.

Check out Palace's possible pts compared to our projected pts? Another team probably out of the running.

Not a bad idea. I have data for the league table at this point last season. I'll work out the form guide of the top clubs and project it forward, we can then compare it to how the league ACTUALLY ended. I'll try and sort it by May.

Very interesting stats (as always) & im sure we would all take that now.

With us playing Watford soon I would say a Hull win would be the best result.

Many of our fans may be suicidal IF they see Hull within a point of us, but we need as many points taken from Watford and Palace as possible.

...... It would be interesting to see how well you would have predicted previous seasons using the same method, and how close you would have been.

The answer is, not very close. the table shows the current form with 8 or 9 games left. The projected pts per game can be compared side by side with the ACTUAL pts per game the clubs finished with.

Reading 's form continued and their projected pts per game was realised. Ominously the team at the top, as Dave Jones would say, Crawled over the finish line.

Southampton were on 75pts this time last season (just like us) and 7pts ahead of West Ham (we are 8pts ahead of Watford). Southampton took 13 more pts from their last 8 games but still fought off WHU who were averaging 2pts a game at the end.

If Watford average 2pts per game they would end up with 81pts meaning we would only need 2 wins and a draw.

Check out the unbelieveable fall from grace by Brighton and Palace. Palace got only 3 draws from their last 9 games.

Cheers mate, your probably right, I don't care if we finish 2nd but its the gap between third is the key and the more they drop points the easier it should be
