A Good, Good Friday - Now Only 89pts Required

With Watford and Palace losing 5 out 6 points between them today, the ultimate points total to guarantee promotion dropped by one point from 90 to 89pts.

Palace can now only make it to 86pts and Watford can only make it to 88pts. If Hull take points off Watford on Tuesday it could be down by a few more points.

But for the moment it's 89pts.

The earliest for promotion could still be end of play next Saturday.

24 hours ago it would have taken 3 wins for us, 3 losses (or 2 losses & a draw) for Watford and two loses for Palace for us to be promoted by next Saturday. That was 8 results to go our way.

Two of them have been realised. Still a tall task but hope the team KNOW what could be waiting for them next Saturday if they just apply themselves across the next two games.

Its getting very exciting now. Two wins from our next two games and whilst it wont be mathematically over, it will be to all intents and purposes.

A slight mistake in the "guaranteed" promotion stakes we do need Forest to drop 1pt in their last 8 games.

I think we can safely say it ain't happening at Watford next week, but I'll be there just in case.
