HUDSON RULED OUT FOR THE SEASON

Mark Hudson has today been ruled out for the rest of the season. Hudson underwent surgery yesterday morning to repair ligament damage in his ankle, this is not the same leg that ruled Hudson out before making his return recently.

On Tuesday I spoke with Simon Lim at the Wales game and he told me that Hudson had already undergone surgery but when I made some calls on Wednesday morning I was told he had not had any operation and the staff were still hopeful he could be patched up without surgery to make a return in 2-3 weeks. I did not put in the update that Mr Lim had told me about the surgery because it would have caused confusion and as it turned out at the time it was not the case anyway.

Hudson will certainly be a massive loss but the display of Leon Barnett against Sheffield Wednesday and the return of Ben Turner should see us ok.

My thought was Steve if I said he had had the surgery and it was not the case there would have been a slaughtering, so I went along with the club line of he will be back in a few weeks.

But then other parts of the update wound people up who did not read it correctly and accused me of scaremongering

If we go up it could be a masterstroke in gaining the injury now, as after a slog of a season a good rest will serve him well before what will no doubt be the hardest pre season city will have had in prep for the premiership,

Never thought at the start of the season I'd say it, but by god we do miss him in that back four!
