Ian Rush backs Bellamy to deliver promotion for CCFC

WELSH football legend Ian Rush believes Craig Bellamy will be ‘enjoying the dream’ if he can help hometown club Cardiff City into the Premier League in the next few weeks.

Malky Mackay’s Bluebirds have three matches in the space of a week, Peterborough tomorrow, Blackburn on Monday and Watford next weekend, which can help take them to the promotion brink.

Bellamy’s fitness for the first two of those matches could be a problem, given he has just played 180 minutes of highly competitive World Cup football with Wales.

But former Wales, Liverpool and Juventus hit-man Rush reckons that at some point Bellamy will take Cardiff over the promotion line and line up next season against Manchester United, Chelsea and Co.


Looking ahead to the Bluebirds in the top flight, Rush said: “It would be a special season for Bellers, right up there with the best of his career.

“It’s been a huge ambition for Craig to play his part when Cardiff were promoted.

“He wants that so much and when they missed out during his first season at the club it was clear how disappointed he was..
