It would be touch and go admittedly, but the Premier League is not as strong as we think (just look at Norwich/Swansea etc) and I have a feeling that the squad we have is better than the bottom 3 in the PL.

Why are us and Norwich an example of the Premier League not being strong as opposed to an example of two clubs who have gone about their business the right way and made shrewd decisions?
Reading & Southampton went up last year automatically and are both in real danger of the drop with Reading almost gone. Is this not then a sign of the strength of the Premier League?

Then your argument makes no sense.

Good question.
Laudrup wants 2 players for every position. Given the extra games we'll get next season with the Europa League (assuming we get into the league stages), both Taylor and Davies will get their fair share of games.
But right now the 1st choice left backs shirt is Davies' and it's up to Taylor to try and win it back.
In my opinion next season, Taylor will be first choice with Davies coming in as second choice in a rotation system.
Taylor also showed during the Olympics that he's very capable of covering at right back as well so will be an indispensable squad member for next season.

Fair enough, we were only going to offer a cheeky bid of a few million anyway!
