were top of the table but the fifth best supported club in the division. reasons anybody?.please dont give me the usual recession, etc nottingham derby and sheffield are getting bigger crowds than us and those areas arnt prosperous.

Re: sad fact

We havent got as many fans as 4 teams above us in that table.

Re: sad fact

Thu Mar 28, 2013 12:50 pm

I bet every club above us has had prem experience though. ;)

Re: sad fact

Florist and Derby average crowds are boosted by their derby game.
Sheffield to Derby/Florist is an hours drive.
As has been said many times before, look at the closeness of the sides geographically, and then check away support at those games.
That is where their boost in crowds comes from.
Even Barnsley will take a big crowd to Sheff Weds, but only bring 200 to the CCS.

Re: sad fact

Why does that matter?

Re: sad fact

5th best supported club in the leage, there is no shame in that. the ones above us are bigger clubs and stayed in the top league for a long time. if we were top of the attendance league people would only call them fans plastics anyway. you cant win sometimes.

We are a further hour away but that doesnt seem to matter if you lot want to have a pop at our away attendance.

The clubs have better support simply because there supporters haven't been starved of top flight football for over forty years.
They cling to the hope that they will return there.
Many of Our supporters will be experiencing top flight football for the first time, in 20 to 30 years from now our fan base will be bigger simply due to the fact that youngsters will grow up hopefully seeing Cardiff in the premiership.

Leeds, Wednesday, Forest and whoever the other one is have clubs around them = shorter travel distances = less money = more travel!

and those clubs have big histories, been in the prem etc. being 5th is very good regarding where we are geographically

Re: sad fact

5th best is very good considering we haven't been in the top flight for 50 years. Then of course the rebrand has affected our attendances.

We are a small club that haven't been in the top league for 50 years. We used to have crowds of 5k at times and that wasn't too distant in the past. Our fanbase has grown remarkably.

Far more then a dozen and you know it. You'll never have a support near Cardiff like we have near Swansea.

Re: sad fact

LOOK AT IT THIS WAY
aint no surprise these teams grounds are way bigger grounds than ours and they all have big derby games but if you workout the amount of empty seats on a average game we piss on em all CARDIFF 4455 empty seats, brighton 5045 empty seats, forrest 7995 empty seats, derby 10497 empty seats, sheffield 16423 empty seats.
So on average our stadium is fuller than all of them.
even at highest attendance we come second to forest v derby which is a midland derby by only 145 seats and we only played palace

JUST REALIZED I WASTED 15 MINS WORKING THAT SHIT OUT AND LATE FOR WORK FFFUUCCKKK

People forget stadium sizes.

Re: sad fact

Shorter distances, bigger clubs... etc

Learn the facts before you judge.
