Bring back blue wrote this on MM site
At our meeting, it was decided that we would take over the responsibility of the march, after the last "organiser" was ousted after being mocked online.
When we tried to offer help or support, our attempts were denied and we were told that they know what they are doing (in my opinion, they don't!)
Last heard that the previous organiser cancelled the plans with SWP and that leaves the march now in serious doubt.
It's been run very poorly and personally I think a poor march will do more harm than no march at all.
At the next meeting scheduled soon - We will discuss plans to go forward for another way of showing our displeasure.
Loads of confusion around this now...the group that holds meetings to get back to blue wanted to take control of this march to make it peaceful and fan friendly...they wanted to co ordinate with police etc to ensure its legal....according to a poster on MM site nobody from the March organisers wanted their help and in fact they did not turn up at the meeting?
So who is organising this march? Will it be stupid to do it if only fifty turn up?
My opinion is to do it right or don't do it at all...there seems to be a sensible group plotting away to try to get Tan to re think his Red plans...they may or may not succeed but seem to be going about it better than the KCB lot and I really hope that they can get some compromises for the fans.

Hi Radyrman,
Yes - it's true that after the first organiser resigned, we wanted to take control of the march and organise it "properly" - including altering the route to a much more realistic route (start in Canton, pick up fans along the way) this would also be preferred by SWP as they would never shut down major roads by Central Station on a Saturday to allow a march!
We were told where to go basically & that the organisers knew what they were doing.
The last I heard is that SWP weren't aware of any march planned and therefore this protest could look ridiculous - so BlueForLife pulled their backing and want nothing to do with this protest.
It is our belief that if a protest goes ahead and is poorly organised/attended, it will look worse than no protest at all..
We will be organising our next meeting shortly, which people may attend and work out other ways to show our dislike at the stripping of ourmclub's identity & traditions.

to be honest mate i just want the club to do well and felt we could go bust at the start of the season BUT I can't see a problem with fans peacefully and sensibly trying to retain the bluebird and campaigning to keep the blue...providing its done properly

As a supporter of VT, the more they mess up these campaigns, the better it is as far as I'm concerned.
However, I am a democrat, and if some people do want to voice their opposition, they should be allowed to do so appropriately.

I don't see the march happening, our friends always jump ship at the end of an idea.

this is the problem people may want to protest and yes in a peaceful way but we have no direction what so ever and until we do then forget it.
Problem is who do peolpe look to for that direction. The other thing is the more marches that get canceled when and IF one does go ahead people would think nar dont bother it will be canceled.
Something has to get sorted and then people have to no about it happening thats another problem .
I hope something does go ahead .

Spot on, social websites are the main reasons for these gatherings.
