You'd be concerned? I would be ecstatically happy, absolutely over the moon. Personally I couldn't give a rats scrotum how big we are in China.

I genuinely think that's small minded thinking (although I fully respect people who hold that view - I just 100% disagree with them).
China is the burgeoning market in the World for football (as it is for most things) and not many people know China and what it takes to be succesful there more than VT. But to be succesful there, he clearly believes we need to be red.
If he did what you're suggesting, then those plans would be dead in the water.
As annis says, it's all about opinions, but those are my views - I think in a few decades time, when people look back at this period (and I firmly believe we will go on from strength to strength now if we stick with VT's vision), then this will be the time when we will be seen to have finally broken into the big time.

Chelsea are successful in China. It's nothing to do with colour

The reason for the change of heart was that he has now come to understand how important a clubs identity is to the fans, and that it's not "just a colour" and that the division we play in is nowhere near as important as our identity and he didn't mean to cause any offence to our fans.
Just imagine if that happened, how happy would it make you feel?

If he does that it'll be for one reason, he's leaving band we're going bust!
