What would you do if......

Mon Mar 25, 2013 9:37 pm

....tomorrow there was a statement on the club website from Vincent Tan stating that he had had a good long think about it and had decided that he had had a change of heart and as a result would reinstate the colour blue as our home kit for next season and return to our Bluebird badge. The reason for the change of heart was that he has now come to understand how important a clubs identity is to the fans, and that it's not "just a colour" and that the division we play in is nowhere near as important as our identity and he didn't mean to cause any offence to our fans.

Just imagine if that happened, how happy would it make you feel?

I'd be very concerned, as I think he has a plan to really make us big in China, and that would put the the tin hat on that.

I'd get pissed, and stay pissed for a week. Which is what I'll be doing in May anyway ;) :ayatollah:

You'd be concerned? I would be ecstatically happy, absolutely over the moon. Personally I couldn't give a rats scrotum how big we are in China.

It's bit like when you are daydreaming of winning the lottery. Staring into space imagining what it would be like to be able to give millions away to your family, buy a big house by the sea, drive around in a solid gold car or whatever, for a brief moment you are there, you are lost in it, and then the car behind beeps their horn, you realise the lights have turned green and reality come back in slaps you right in the face.

We are now a poor mans Man Utd on the pitch, and the butt of everyones jokes off it. I've said it before and I'll say it again, thanks a f**cking bundle tan!

I genuinely think that's small minded thinking (although I fully respect people who hold that view - I just 100% disagree with them).

China is the burgeoning market in the World for football (as it is for most things) and not many people know China and what it takes to be succesful there more than VT. But to be succesful there, he clearly believes we need to be red.

If he did what you're suggesting, then those plans would be dead in the water.

As annis says, it's all about opinions, but those are my views - I think in a few decades time, when people look back at this period (and I firmly believe we will go on from strength to strength now if we stick with VT's vision), then this will be the time when we will be seen to have finally broken into the big time. :ayatollah:

Chelsea are successful in China. It's nothing to do with colour

Nowhere near as succesful as man Utd and even Liverpool (who've done virtually nothing for ages).

VT is not just aiming to do well there, but to be massive there :ayatollah: :malky:

Id carry on throughout the day as normal, if he said he was changing to pink and unicorns, Id carry on as normal. Because I know the love I have would still be there. Like it is now.
You cannot let the red get to you 8-)

If he does that it'll be for one reason, he's leaving band we're going bust! :old:

That isn't what he said in the recent BBC interview.

"I'll leave the club in good hands."

Or don't you trust him? :laughing6:
