As big; devisive and tormenting an issue it is, I'm putting the whole rebrand to one side for this post - I have to start by saying we truly have an absolutely brilliant club, can't say fairer than that.
I attended the Football League Awards Show last night in London as I was the competition winner on Soccer AM for 2 tickets to the show. A fella from the Football League went over to the tables that Cardiff had to say I was there and that I'm a massive City fan etc etc. Once they were informed of this representatives of the club came straight over to me and my wife after the awards had finished and invited us to be in their official photos with the Family Club of the Year Award.
Few of the lads who were there including Tom Gorringe, Julian Jenkins, Wayne Nash, Scott Young (and a fella from the ticket office who didn't tell me his name, sorry if I've missed anyone else) were top class (especially Tom) - introducing me to everyone around us, they had me chatting to Manish Bhasin from BBC and quite a few others from off the tele. They also introduced me to Vincent Tan's son who was a gentleman and a really nice guy. They all let my Wife an I have photos with the Award and genuinely made me feel like I was one of them - top lads fairplay.
We had a drink with them all afterwards in the after show party and had a good laugh...although I got a bit greedy with the free drinks and was in a right knot, two of the lads there from the club (don't know which 2) had to carry me to my room, haha. Don't know what they must have thought because apart from being off my nut I also had a nice fresh gash on the back of my head after being bottled Friday night in Caerphilly, ha.
Julian Jenkins spoke really well when accepting the award also, and I got a genuine feel that they have a real passion to improve wvery element of the club to the highest possible extent.
The biggest highlight of the night for me though was meeting Phil Stant...what a legend that man is. He is my favourite City player of all time, and was sat on the table behind me. I was a bit star struck to be honest, he's right up there for me and I was a bit too nervous to approach him so a fella from the Football League on our table went over and asked him to speak to me . I'm so glad he did, I was with him all night from then, having a wicked laugh and a drink. He's still a proper Bluebird, spoke with so much affection and passion for us, and told me a few funny stories as well. He's like one of us, I was going around with him at the end of the awards show nicking all the free drinks that were left on the tables to take to the after show party, haha.
At the after show party Phil was speaking to the lads from the club about coming back down to Cardiff for a home match and leading the players out...or anything along those lines. When they said yeah we'll set something up Phil said he'll only do it if my Wife and I can do it with him as well lol - what a legend! Can't speak highly enough of him, so down to earth and got some quality memories courtesy of him. Scott Young is a good crack as well, and he's another one we're lucky to have involved with the club.
When I was chatting to people from the Football League on our table (who were also really sound people) they all spoke so highly of our club, and how they wanted to see us in the Premier League. I was also sat by the npower fan of the year from Exeter and he was telling me he liked us and wanted to see us promoted, although he did also say his wife would'nt travel with him to Wales for a match again because of some 'bad' experiences they've had with Cardiff and Swansea fans, but that's another story lol. He still likes is though

I was impressed with his story as well and what he does for Exeter City Supporters Groups.
Overall, all the lads who attended the Awards representing Cardiff are a credit to the club and I felt proud to be a Cardiff fan last night, there were people there who made it clear to me they're quite envious of what is beig assembled at the club currently. It was always going to be a quality night there, but the lads from Cardiff and obviously Mr Stant made it a bit more special last night - Nice one lads can't fault you and was great meeting you all (and apologies for being a drunken mess haha)
