Dreadful! Cardiff boss Malky Mackay slams plot to bring Glasgow giants to English game

Ibrox chief Charles Green says Old Firm will be 'cross border' within FIVE years – and that's a disaster for Scotland says Malky
Malky Mackay has claimed the Old Firm moving south would be “dreadful” for Scottish football.

As revealed in an exclusive interview with the Daily Mirror, Rangers chief executive Charles Green says a cross-border move is inevitable with five years.

The Cardiff manager, a former Scotland international, said: “It would be good for them because they would both have access to the television money. It would then allow them to attract players of the quality that clubs in the Premier League that are not even a quarter of the size can afford. It would give them a huge chance to then go and attack Europe if they get to those top places. Personally I don’t think it would be good for Scottish football - I think it would be dreadful for Scottish football if that were the case. It is my country and I am very passionate about my country and the growth of football in the country and I don’ think it would be good for the country at all. I can see their agenda and their point of view on it but it would not be good for country and I don’t see it happening - not in the near future.”

The Rangers and Celtic arselickers on here should remember what the Rangers chairman said.

He said if Rangers aren't allowed into the English league then Cardiff and Swansea should be kicked out.

Feck off bigot. :ayatollah:

I'm more suprised that Carlisle never moved into the Scottish league to be honest, don't know if I'd agree with it in principle, but for financial reasons it would make sense, could imagine them becoming a wel established Scotts Prem team and the amount of away fans they'd attract and take would be massive, it must have cost them a fortune over the years going to places like Plymouth, Exeter, and Southend etc. :!:

Britain is such a small country having different leagues appears daft.

Interesting how court of law would view any merger. Are England, Wales or Scotland internationally recognised countries ?
I have an UK passport, it says I am a UK citizen and a member of the European community, nothing about being Welsh.

Scotland saying yes to independence would finish it.

I could see Div 2 and the conference split into north & south like many moons ago and further regions within the north / south regions even down to the Welsh league if we integrated working quite well.

No way the Scottish or Welsh FA allow this but especially Eufa, they lose too many votes at the Fifa table.

Carlisle actually tried to buy Clydebank to get into the Scottish League in the 90's. Can't remember the blokes name but I'm sure he was an eccentric chap!

I genuinely don't beleive the Old Firm would be any loss to the Scottish League setup. They are no longer the attraction they once were and the fact that they struggle to turn out 25k fans these days justifies that.

Two clubs that used to have waiting lists of 1000's outed by the police last week for churning out false attendance figures shows how far they have fallen on that front.

That's the one!! He turned up one midweek wearing the silliest outfit ever including a cream top hat and a black scarf to cover his face to avoid being noticed. He stuck out like a sore thumb

And if Scotland votes to go alone then that would leave Rangers plans in tatters. And besides if we played Rangers Fishy would not know who the FOOK to support :laughing6: :laughing6: :laughing6: :laughing6: :laughing6: :laughing6:
