A championship squad player?
I think not you bitter bunch of bastards.
Fri Mar 22, 2013 10:13 pm
Exactly.
He was class tonight.

Christ I must lay off the cider... He was OK nothing to eulogise over though..
Fri Mar 22, 2013 10:34 pm
Always been unfairly criticised by our lot. Always been good enough for a lower prem team and we could have done with him at times this season
Fri Mar 22, 2013 10:35 pm
They all played well, even Robson Kanu had a good game .Ricketts was the only one who looked a bit dodgy.
Fri Mar 22, 2013 10:36 pm
I wouldn't see him starting week in week out for us in the Prem if we do go up.
But I would take him.
Fri Mar 22, 2013 10:43 pm
He's a good try hard. That's it.
Love the guy - good servant to us and would have him here - but he aint no Ramsey, Allen, Williams or Bale in midfield.
All wales team played well tonight.

He's as good as Allen.

Proved exactly waht I've said int he past Joe Ledley threads, he's a great player and would have no problem breaking into our first team.
Eat your heart out Tonteg Bluebird, or was he shit tonight as well? All that SPL football, made him crap?

No way. Even though he was a jack, Allen is a cracking little player.

Going on what Allen has done this season, he's proved he can't quite cut it with the likes of Gerrard and Suarez imo.

Well they are completely diffrent players

I agree that he's been caught out this season but he's still young and will improve in the next couple of seasons if given the chance. All players that leave swansea struggle at first.

Would I want him back at Cardiff, YEP

It's easy to look good playing against a weak Scotland team with Bale, Bellamy, Ramsey, Collison and Jonathan Williams, who I thought was outstanding when he came on, around you. I must have been watching a different game as although Ledley did his bit, there were far better Welsh performers than him on the pitch. Scotland had 10 men for part of the second half as well don't forget.

I think some are missing the point about Ledley, as the
majority of people I speak to don't want him back because of the way he left the club in the first place
Personally don't rate him highly as a player (despite an ok performance against a limited side tonight) and don't believe he is a 'Malky' type of player
Same goes for Gunter

f**k sake, half of our squad would struggle in League One!!!!
Ramsey was the stand out for me. Well apart from Grant Hanley or whatevet his name is, just a pity he was standing out on Cathcart Road.

Ledley was decent, but he was due a performance for Wales and it came against an awful Scotland side.

Exactly, you would swear by this thread that Ledley was head and shoulders above every player on the pitch last night! If Ledley puts in decent performances against top class opposition consistantly, then I will believe he is a Premiership standard player. Last night Ledley had a decent game against a very poor Scotland team, several Welsh players outperformed Ledley last night and just because he's an ex Cardiff player, people on here are blinkered with their views on him.
As I've previously said, Ledley could have been a decent Premiership player, but moving to a lesser standard league in the SPL to play with lesser quality players has halted his progress. Last night was the first 7 out of 10 performance I have seen Ledley do in a Wales shirt for quite some time. Hopefully Ledley can have another decent game Tuesday.

Tonteg turn your voice down you sound like my 7 year old daughter with your bleating.
Scotland were awful because Wales played a high intensity pressing game and Ledley was at the heart of that.
Ledley broke up the play all night to let the more forward thinking players do their business.
He was up against 4 PL midfielders in Snodgrass, Maloney, Mcarthy and Dorrans and bossed them.
But hey, hes only a championship squad player at best

I agree Polo - Ledley always has been class.
To those who say he left us badly, what did he personally do wrong when he left in 2010 anyway?
Sat Mar 23, 2013 2:17 pm
Die, Joe Ledley looked after Joe Ledley. Nothing wrong with that.
It wasnt his fault we were crippled with debt.
Sat Mar 23, 2013 3:00 pm
In fairness Scotland and Wales would struggle against Championship teams.
I think Ledley lacks pace.

Couldn't have put it better myself!

Would have him back straight away, cracking player who gives his all every time, think he has wasted a few years of his career playing in the porridge leagues, I know Celtic get big crowds and play in Europe every year but the championship is a much stronger league, it was a massive backward step going to Glasgow
Sat Mar 23, 2013 4:34 pm
I really can't believe the majority of you in this thread would honestly think Ledley would walk into any lower half of the table Premiership side and be able to consistantly play at a level good enough to keep his place in the team. I thought some of you were more intelligent than that. Let's see how he does away to Croatia Tuesday. With Ramsey banned I'm worried Ledley's limitations will be there for all to see (again).
