It's between Thomas Ince (Blackpool), Glenn Murray (Palace) and Matej Vydra (Watford).

Vydra for me, been very impressed with him this season.

" AFC Bournemouth, Brighton & Hove Albion, Cardiff City, Doncaster Rovers, Oxford United and Plymouth Argyle have all been shortlisted for the Family Club of the Year award.
Cardiff City, Charlton Athletic, Derby County, Huddersfield Town and Tranmere Rovers are on the shortlist for the Coca-Cola Community Club of the Year award.
The nominations for Mitre Goal of the Year are Mark Hudson's for Cardiff against Derby County, Nick Powell's for Crewe against Cheltenham Town, Sam Byram's for Leeds against Oxford, Josh Wright's for Millwall against Burnley and Simon Cox's for Nottingham Forest against Birmingham. "
Well there's 3 things our club/player(s) are nominated for.

My money's on Murray.. Only because he's English and been better than Ince IMO

Has to be Murray. He's scored 29 goals already in the league and there's still 8 games left!

I'm led to believe that a fair amount of those have come from the penalty spot. Can't seem to find an exact number anywhere though.

I'm fairly sure he's scored most of them from open play.
Even so, Lambert was Soton's main penalty taker last year and he only scored 27.

Perhaps I've missed his best games, but whenever I've watched Murray play I've been left unimpressed. Granted he scores goals, but his overall play doesn't warrant be player of the year! Vydra is quality and he scores all sorts of goals. Ince is class, he's shone in a shit Blackpool team. I know I'm biased but I think Hudson should've been nominated, without him we'd be play-off contenders at best.

Hudson should be on that list.

I agree.
If there was a "defender of the year" award, there'd be little competition IMO.

My Championship Team of the Year...
Marshall
Peltier Hudson Morgan A.Taylor
Eagles Bridcutt Jackson Ince
Austin Vydra
Player of the year: Probably biased but i'd vote Mark Hudson, out of the three on the shortlist i'd vote Ince.

I'd probably swap Peltier for Byram and swap Eagles for Bolasie. You could probably make a case for Gunnarsson as well. Bar that though, it's a pretty good attempt.

Decent shout with Byram actually and i also agree with your comment about Gunnarsson, i think he's pretty underrated.
Eagles was one my dodgy picks, but personally i wouldn't have Bolasie in, maybe swap him for George Boyd if anyone.

Vydra for me. Very impressive this season, banging in goals for fun. I think it will be close between him & Once. Ince has tailed off though recently.....I expect a prem club to snap him up in the summer though

Seven from the spot.
Would still be top without them, as Austin is on 22 but has had three penalties.
Interestingly, a few stats for us:
The average minute we score is 41 minutes.
The average we concede is 58 minutes.
We've won 19 of the 23 games after we've scored first.
When we concede first we've won four, drawn two and lost five.
We've had 15 different goalscorers.
There's been just four games where we've failed to score.
