April 16th will be the Day you reach The Premiership

If fate has anything to go by.

On April 15th last year I was up in Carlisle celebrating Charlton winning promotion to the Championship as we won 1-0. Five hours later when I got home I was given the bad News that Dad had passed away which crushed me but little did I know then that an extraordinary year was about to unfold.

As I said it started with Charlton winning promotion.

Since then the three Professional club's that he played for, Southend, Wrexham and Swan*** have all reached a Wembley final for the first time in their history which leaves his beloved Cardiff City and how ironic it is that on 16th April, a year after his death you could be celebrating Promotion to The Championship having beaten Charlton, his former club and the team that started it off a year ago.

By the way if anybody is wondering who the horse is in my avatar, it's Frankel.

Hopefully that will be the day we clinch promotion for your father. The late great Eddie May.

Cheers guys those words mean a lot it would be nice to hear a chant or two that night especially as it's against his former club and on the one year anniversary.

We(gabalfa boys) made that flag up and we used it as a meeting point in any strange town in the uk and Europe,(before mobile phones)it disappeared mid nineties.Your dad will always be an iconic Cardiff city legend and will never be forgotten.

Your dad was a true gent. I hope that on 16th April he is looking down smiling on CCFC celebrating promotion.
