A forum for all things Cardiff City

This is our most succesfull season for a long time
This has been mentioned a lot of times in the past, but something needs to be done
What worries me is this. If we go up our away allocation will be full most home games. We're going to get drowned out by the away fans and its going to be embarrassing on motd ect!!!
We will have no 12th man!!!
I hope that most of the Ninian stand fans who have to move are on there way over to the canton!!!
I really don't know what the answer is but something needs to be done.
Who is in charge of the stadium experience because its f*cking shit down there at the moment. Don't blame the rebrand because it was dire before!!
It won't be long before I'm going to have to beat a song out of someone in there

Come on we're Cardiff city!!! We're supposed to be the most passionate fans in the land

In my humble opinion, which I have stated many times previously, it would be better with one big singing, standing section in the Canton.
Please don't bring up swopping ends - it ain't going to happen.

its simple. people are not singing. when they do it can be loud. no excuse its the fans not the stadium. maybe the new tier will help next season.
maybe being the underdogs again next season might bring back the fight in some of our fans.

Ask Tan. Hes got all the answers.

Some on here would sing the Malaysian national anthem if Tan said so

Jumping the gun here (Assuming we're Prem), but playing the likes of ManUre, the Arse etc will create an atmosphere simply because of who the opposition is, every game will be a battle as we'll most probably be the underdogs in most games so I think next season will see an improvement just because of that.
A 2nd tier..hmm, is this planned for next season? I was under the impression it would be the season after if we didn't get relegated from the Prem (assuming we get there).

It's the new type of fan that the club has actively pursued since the move to the new stadium.
Family club of the year etc has brought a whole new type of fan along, the sit down and clap era. Not being critical of their support - just pointing out the way it is.

Since we moved to the new stadium we have gained a lot of plastics !... Especially since city have come close the last few years !.. These new plastics just dont sing, unlike the old ninian crew !... But as we expand the stadium these plastics are gonna have to turn into real fans and start getting vocal otherwise the atmosphere wont change !.. I think the position we been in the last few years makes most of the fans very nervous which reduces the singing too. If we get promoted and where complete underdogs of being a top ten team then we got nothing to lose and no reason to be nervous so there will be a much better atmosphere !.. Imo

Barry, I sit in the Family Section of the Grand Stand with the wife and my 2 boys - we make more noise than most of that area put together. I look around me and see fans just happy to sit there and almost embarrassed to "join in" with a chant etc. I sometimes feel like jumping up and shouting at them to get behind the team but sadly I might only end up getting ejected.
Also another thing that gets on my nerves is Ali shouting out "Make some noise etc" but always cuts the "Hey Jude" song too early for people to chant out "City" etc
Anyway I will continue to shout/chant and do my bit

I honestly think it will improve if we go up next season. We've been so close for the last few seasons fans are nervous and if we go up we will enjoy it more

(1) Reverse the rebranding.
(2) Club to collect back all the items in red and with the beer mat on.
StT.

It's got nothing to do with rebranding though!!! As it was dire when we played in blue.
Are you saying that were less likely to sing "bluebirds" ect because of the rebranding?
Tue Mar 19, 2013 2:11 pm
I'd say that if we were in blue, there would be more songs sung..
Thank god we are top of the league - because that's all we sing!
Blues are going up etc are all defunct now... Nobody dare sing the reds are going up. Thank god!

This is my feeling , you can sense the tension in the ground imo , we're so close but people are to nervous to get excited again as in the past we have been so close but have then ballsed it up, maybe when we get promoted the atmosphere will improve

Also I'd like to add that there were some cracking atmospheres at the Ccs when, maybe 10k were there during the carling cup run

Plastics is a bit harsh when a lot of them are season ticket holders. They're going to 23 games a season!
Most Welsh rugby fans go to 2 or 3!
Tue Mar 19, 2013 2:55 pm
nothing it will never be the same, unless you knock down the lego stadium, and build a ninian park replica
Tue Mar 19, 2013 3:07 pm
Leicester home in 2009/10 play-offs was best atmosphere I've ever experienced at CCFC. My hair was literally standing on the back of my neck.
We've had a lot of hard times the last few years with falling short of the prizes and that can affect it, the rebrand hasn't helped (but neither do those moaning about it), let's just get a bit of confidence back in our club, we can do it this year and we're going to be a force in the PL.
Also, I wonder if any of those complaining about atmosphere also complained about 'Three Little Birds', thought that was a great chant, can't have it both ways!
Lastly, I wouldn't care if 'the reds are going up' is chanted, because that's what we are right now and that's what we're going to do. Get behind the boys!
Tue Mar 19, 2013 3:33 pm
In hindsight, when we left the ninian for the ccs,we should have moved in block.SO .......when the new tier is in place.......lets all move up there,
I.e all the old block a ,grangend and each and everyone who used to rant, rave and sing in the ninian.
That,s the only way I can see an atmosphere being created....it happens on away fixtures ..lets make it happen in the CFCs
Tue Mar 19, 2013 3:50 pm
Believe me, when we get promoted, the atmosphere will go up. Whether it be from the glory hunters, or people now feeling happier about Premier League football. We will sell out most games and the Canton stand will be louder than ever.
I still think the family stand will be quiet, however. It always is the dead part of the ground.

I wish Ali could play the full song of Hey Jude like Ninian Park. Fans need a trademark anthem like Liverpool/Chelsea. Need to improve because its getting embedding when 2,000 away fans outsing the home crowd

IMO the atmosphere is set from the start and it would ramp up if we all sang Men of Harlech at the top of our voices instead of just the hand clap. Everyone agrees that the atmosphere for the egg last Saturday was amazing and it all started with an amazing rendition of the national anthem, so let's all learn the words to Men of Harlech and have it as our anthem!

That will help, because the atmosphere was so much better last year.

Dont blame the stadium it is down to one thing and that is each and every individual down there.WE MAKE THE ATMOSPHERE
NOBODY ELSE.
Tue Mar 19, 2013 6:49 pm
We're so close to promotion, its time to have a party atmopshere.

Rebrand arguement - Bullshit, atmosphere has been terrible for years.
Stadium arguement - Wales Vs. Scotland produced a great atmosphere as did City Vs Palace in the semi.
The real crux is the fans, the sit down shut up crew. It astounds me when I see posts on here calling for people to sit down and watch the game. The sitters under 50 are the new type of fans we have acquired recently to the detriment of the atmosphere. It comes to something when the Jacks have a better atmosphere than us, rugby songs/fans regardless.

Your correct 1948. However this can't be said about the canton end.
Obviously it's up to people where they want to stand and sit but the canton end is designed for standing and singing so why don't people fecking sing, bang the seats, and fecking bounce around!!
