OUR KIT AGAINST SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY

Tue Mar 19, 2013 9:45 am

My missus couldn't make this game, so I had a lad's day out, and a great one it was. Came home high as a kite (natural high, honest Guv ;) ) absolutely bouncing, and the other results were the icing on the cake.

After we had discussed individual performances and how happy Dave Jones looked, she asked me what colour kit did we play in, and I honestly couldn't answer.

Now I'm not just saying that to come over as a clever tw*t, or to try and run other's noses in it so to speak, but I just didn't know, and in all honesty, didn't really care, it's a bit like our Wembley appearances, four times and the only colour I can remember was us playing in black once.

I may be the only one on the planet bu in all my years watching things like scores and who scored just merge into one, I tend to remember the crack, the atmosphere the celebrations etc far more than the score, the colour etc.

Not trying to say, I'm right and others are wrong, just that we are all different. :old:

I'm not sure what your point is.

If you couldn't remember who we were playing, does that mean their name doesn't matter? If you couldn't remember who scored, does that mean he is irrelevant and we should sack him? If you can't remember something it doesn't mean what you tried to remember has no importance.

Although I think it's ridiculous you can watch a match for an hour and a half and not know what colour the team played in. I'm very dubious of this post unfortunately mate.

Where did i say I couldn't remember who we were playing???
Of course I remember who scored for a few days or so unless it a game such as a cup final etc. But I'm not one o=f those, and I have plenty of mates who can, remember who scored, what game etc from ten years or more hence, now i ain't one of those and it tends to blur into one, as for the last line you wrote, sorry, ain't got a clue what your on about

What I am getting at, and you must be one of the few that miss it, is the fact that when I look back on the game, whether it be an hour later a week or years, the colour they played in doesn't even enter my thoughts. :old:

The first thing I said to my 2 boys as we walked up the steps and looked onto the pitch, was that looks like Liverpool out there, but I am someone that don't like the red but will put up with it unless the name changes. On the bright side what a cracking weekend for us :ayatollah: :malky: :ayatollah:

You didnt say any of those things, they were examples. I showed that not being able to remember things doesn't mean they are not important, or even fundamental - which of course is what you were getting at.

If Liverpool done away with their Red by the owners orders and had to play in Stars and Stripes, I can assure you 100% of people would remember what kit they played in. The red of Liverpool is as important to their fans as it should be to ours.

Wouldnt make a difference to me if we played in green with yellow spots away from home - its the running out in red at CCS that kills me every time
