This summer
14th August.
Wales will host the Republic of Ireland in a friendly international at Cardiff City Stadium on 14 August.
The match will be a warm-up for Wales' World Cup qualifiers against Macedonia and Serbia in September.
Giovanni Trapattoni's side face Sweden and Austria the following month.
"The timing of the August friendly match is always so near to the start of the new domestic season," said Wales manager Chris Coleman.
"A home game is always useful to cut-down on travelling and I am sure that our friends from Ireland will feel the same."
The countries have met twelve times previously with five wins each and two draws with the Republic of Ireland winning 3-0 in the last meeting in February 2011 in Dublin.

We never really play them either in qualifying for the Euros or World Cup, so nice to be playing them

Why so close to the start of the football season ?
They should keep international football for May/June

Why the roll? I will want Wales to do well but I can't step foot inside a ground where Wales play with a player born in another country leading us out, it's embarassing for me.
I can accept players being allowed to play for us due to parents but I am against it.
I would accept a rule where if it was a parent born here but nothing else.

Williams shows more f*cking commitment than most of the players, Ramsey included!

I would accept parent rule.
I don't care if he shows commitment he showed he took an easy opition because he wouldn't get a chance playing for England.
