Nearly 54, been watching City home and away for 48 years.
I should be hyper-ventilating over City almost there in the long journey to Premier League. I've taken shit for loads of years from Premier plastics in this area who never bought into the City thing like me. Given it back too, mind! Maybe my slight apathy is because I have lost a little bit of 'my club' in the re-brand.......if he changes the name to 'Cardiff' or 'Cardiff Dragons' I WILL be off, for sure!! But leave that there.
If we go up, I would love the Sleeping Giant story to come true. With continued investment and a bit of success, we should attract quality players and should see us at the 35,000 - 40,000 level. Happy days.
But I don't really care if we came back down in the 1st year. The monkey will have been off my back.
BUT please, please don't take the Premier League on by looking for 1-0's like we are now.
Find a No 2 or someone who will work close with you and niggle at you to play passing football up there. I don't want tippy tappy stuff, mind! I want the ball pinging around, yes.....but get in the channels or out wide and invest in a couple of bust a gut midfielders who will get on the edge of the box for pull backs and shots.
Maybe even get Paul Scholes. Or Frank Lampard.
